Best movie of the year?

What is the best movie that you've seen this year?

For me, it was the Dark Knight. Just an awesome movie. Iron Man was also very good.

Seeing as Dark Knight and Saw V are the only movies I've seen this year, I'd have to say Dark Knight.

I think Iron Man was a much better movie / adaption than The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight wasn't a perfect movie, but it was fun to watch. I guess that means something.
Stupid motorcycle.

As far as comedies go, Yes Man is high on the list.
Love Guru for best soundtrack even though the movie was basically Austin Powers with a different gimmick.

Top 4 are all very, very close:

1. Dark Knight
2. Gran Torino
3. In Bruges
4. Burn After Reading
5. Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Have yet to see a few that could dramatically change my list, including Milk, Slumdog Millionaire, Frost/Nixon and Synecdoche, New York.

Watched Frost/Nixon last night, pretty good, don't know if it cracks my top 5 though.

The best were Wall-e, Iron Man, and Burn After Reading.

Yes Man was quite possibly the worst movie that I've ever seen.

Synecdoche, New York was too artsy ass fartsy for my taste.

Dark Knight was good but flawed. Note to Christian Bale: Batman does not = raspy voice.

What made Yes Man so horrible? I can't say I enjoyed it, but I didn't hate it.

Horrible, unbelievable plot. Lifeless characters. A main character who was a complete ******* at the begining of the movie who we don't have any empathy for (Oh, your life sucks? Well DO something about it, moron. Stop being such a bitch and have some fun. Oh, and saying 'Yes' to everything is retarded.). Oh, and it wasn't funny AT ALL. I didn't laugh once.

Worst movie ever.-jay

The Dark Knight was the best movie I went to see. I hated Bale as Batman, but Ledger carried that movie (in my opinion). It was so perfectly gritty, escaping all of the goofiness of pretty much every other Batman there was... I loved it.

I liked it and found it funny (oh and Jay, there are WAY worse movies out there).

As for Best movie, I will not make a final decision until the end of the year (especially since there are a few movies I still want to see). However, as of right now, I don't know of any film can top The Wrestler in my mind.

I don't know from "best", but my favourite movie of the year was 'RocknRolla', easily.

Yes Man may not be the worst movie ever, but it's definitely one of the worst I've seen all year. Although nothing can beat Indiana Jones 4 as the worst movie of the year by far, for shear disappointment factor.

I'm not saying its exactly good, but for comedy movies there wasn't much to choose from.

True, it was a sad year for comedies.

Burn After Reading and Wall-e were the best we got.

I still need to see Ashes of Time Redux, Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, Rachel Getting Married, Synechdoche New York, Happy Go Lucky, Let the Right One In, The Good the Bad the Weird, Frost/Nixon, and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button before I can even think of seriously answering that question.
