So they're making a a movie of Brave New World...

Ridley Scott, DiCaprio travel to Brave New World | Entertainment | Reuters

Missing the point entirely, I think...

I really don't think this would be the kind of movie most people would watch. Nothing explodes.

Now I haven't read Brave New World yet, but I would like to see how making a movie out of it is missing the point entirely. Unless you're comparing Hollywood Unionized Crews to assembly line work.

I didn't like Blade Runner.

Yeah, you heard me.

Blade Runner was without question overrated. However, I liked it quite a bit.

I like how one scene in Blade Runner has an Atari billboard in the background. Right away, you know you're not looking at the future of this reality.

Well, no ****. That's really no reason to dislike the film, though. Anyone at the time could've predicted that Atari would become a major corporation, as at the time it was at the forefront of the video game industry. You can't really hold lack of ability to see the future accurately against it.

Of course that's not the reason I dislike it. I dislike it because it sucks. I'm just poking fun at a piece of product placement that now seems ironic.

Because "it sucks" is still not going very in depth, but whatever. This is not a topic about Blade Runner. It's about a future adaptation of Brave New World.

(but anyway the best sci fi film ever is Alphaville, une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution)

Atari is a major corporation, now that Infogrames bought their name. Or did you not know who was responsible for the Unreal franchise?

Blade Runner was an immense achievement in realistic fiction, for the film industry. The story itself was minimal, but the artistry put into the sets and backgrounds is amazing.

Brave New World with such people in it?
