Sooo much better than returning the franchise to what the comics were all about: Peter discovering his powers! What the hell, guys! |

But yeah, that's what the comics were about right? Peter Parker cutting himself, and Mary Jane getting an abortion behind her parents back? "Focuses on a teenager grappling with problems." What part of that sounds good? Did you see Dragon Ball Evolution? DID YOU? They raped Goku with this nonsense and now they're do it to Spidey. | |

When the character you root for the most is the villain (Sandman ftw) and the hero is the character you want to kill the most? Usually not a good sign. Also "real life problems" doesn't necessarily mean Twilight. And I'm pretty sure we all knew that the DragonBall movie was gonna be awful. |

I liked it and I think it was done on purpose. But it usually does mean Twilight. And I prayed for the DB movie to be good. =[ |

That is what it has taught me. Especially the more difficult ventures such as DB. The creators just took the easy way out because they were faced with a challenge. I want to see this challenge stepped up to. |

WE DON'T NEED SPIDERMAN TO BECOME A PART OF ALL THIS BULL****. Last edited by Glux; 01-13-2010 at 09:05 PM. |

Like all of them popular anime. Or E.T. Or the first Spiderman Movie. God knows none of those are any good. |

Also, the movie is so early in development that such issues may not even appear. You guys seem to be overreacting. ![]() |

Gender: Posts: 9,544 Thanks: 175 Thanked 150 Times in 120 Posts | Coming of age tales are a great storytelling meathod but given that Spiderman ages in his normal continuty, and that aside from the third movie trying to please too many people at once, a reboot wasn't really needed. While Spiderman was bad it wasn't on the same level of suck as Superman 3&4, or Batman and Robin. So the fanbase got upset upon hearing about the reboot, throw in the blister stupidity that is One more Day(and the story archs that followed) and you're lucky the fans aren't getting the torches and pitchforks out so they can march on Marvle. - You stupid dog. |

Then again, I'll side with IRHP as well and say it sounds a lot like they're about to make the same mistakes all over again. The story shouldn't be about his struggles so much as his amazing triumphs over them. You can smack him in the face as much as you like so long as you give us a sweet victory. While the action was pretty cool, and I didn't mind Peter being all aggro, the scriptwriters and Topher Grace together managed to ham up one of the coolest characters in the Spiderman arsenal, and my personal favorite: Venom. Having Grace as Brock was totally inappropriate in terms of character, and his performance just didn't carry any emotion for me. It trampled all over the whole cast's acceptable portrayals and distracted the audience from the solid Sandman character portrayal. Last edited by Cosmonautical; 01-14-2010 at 06:58 AM.
