I popped in "Lupin the 3rd: Royal Scramble" last night. After the disappointing "Gorilla Tactics", I was hoping that the two episodes remaining would be better. Except I couldn't play those particular eps. Or access the previews. The screen would freeze up and I'd hear a grinding sound from my DVD Player. Is this a common problem with this volume or DVDs in general? How can I fix it? Am I making any sense? Any help would be appreciated. |

Smudges can be cleaned off relatively easily with cloth (ie your sleeve) and a nonabrasive liquid, or even your breath. Always wipe the DVD from the center ring toward the outside. Don't be afraid to rub hard; DVD's can actually take quite a bit of rubbing, but obviously you don't want to be ridiculously aggressive. If that doesn't work, try the disc in a different player. Your DVD player might need to have its lens cleaned. I don't recommend taking this task up to yourself. There are lens cleaners available, but I couldn't tell you which ones work or not. If there is a deep scratch on the disc, your local video store might have a resurfacing machine that could resurface the disc for a fee usually around $5. |
