In my opinion, the experience of seeing a film on the big screen (the way its meant to be seen) more than makes up for the price. Plus, prices really depend on WHERE you go. Here in Canada, I usually go to Cineplex theatres which currently cost $12.50 for normal films, $14.50 for 3D films, and $17.50 for IMAX films. Films are slightly cheaper at AMC ($11), since I get a discount for being a member of the rewards program. There is an independent arthouse cinema I go to, which usually costs no more than $9. Then, of course is the repertory cinema, which only costs $5-8 (plus $3 six month membership). |
