I know he made claims a while back, and he has now posted a pic. ![]() His comment on the posting of the picture was, Quote:
The post has reached 9323 likes (including my own) as of right now. ('Twas posted about 35 minutes ago according to Facebook) I commented on how I would have growled back, if it wouldn't have made it even creepier... Anyway, wiki page for second film and its sequel section. The Chronicles of Riddick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote:

I didn't think he was the kind of material they look for in those. You know, usually subtle. They can't get Hopkins, anyway, which kind of ruins it. |

I liked Pitch Black, but that's probably because it wasn't all "I'm Vin Diesel, IN YOUR FACE!" |

^Judging by the pic I'm going to say they have special effects. Doesn't bother me much personally, just so long as they don't take away from the film. Pitch black had lot's cgi as well, and so did 2. Just I think they used it alot less for creatures in 2 and used it more on background and ships and the like. Though the cgi for background was interacting with practical sets. I don't remember much of CGI being used in the film other than those and where it was probably needed. A man walking to his death in flaming vortex of doom in a far shot, for example. I suppose they could've done far away stop motion or something, but they would've still had to add more cgi anyway. CGI was easier and probably looked better than it would have otherwise. Altogether shots like that seemed epic to me. :/ Not sure what you mean by ""I'm Vin Diesel, IN YOUR FACE!"" really. :/ It is an over-the-top sci=fi action fantasy film whose main character is essentially a killing machine/ wanted mass murderer. It is probably going to be in-your-face at some point. :/ If anything it would probably be "I'm But I still am not sure what exactly you mean, sooo... Chronicles felt more like a lot of it was just made up at the last second, or at least that it was missing the depth of traditional elements that made PB believable. Specifically, it's a horror sci-fi that strips the whole we-can-make-up-anything technology aspect out of it, so it can get that feeling of suspense in effect. Chronicles was fun, but it suffered from the same problems Van Hellsing and Stardust did recently. Not enough rules to ground it, and not enough real sets or believable characters or complications to ground it. The whole Riddick series is basically just a Flash Gordon retread, anyway. |
