| I'MA FIRIN MAH ADVENTURE BUS! Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Birmingham, AL Gender: Posts: 13,178 Thanks: 965 Thanked 663 Times in 386 Posts | OK, from now on, about weekly, I'm going to make an album review, Feel free to give feedback This week: OutKast: "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" The album(s) good overall, there is a total of 40 songs, three of which contain BOTH members ("Knowing", "Ghetto Musick", and "Roses" the latest single) The group is mostly known for it's mainly hip-hop songs, but ever since Andre 3000 changed his style in "The Whole World" (2001 or 2002), R&B became part of the group, but anyway now for the A.R. "Speakerboxxx" In my opinoin, the bad side of the album (hell I love both), "Speakerboxx" has 19 tracks, the most noticable being, "Ghetto Musick" with it's touch of rock, "Rooster", "Unhappy", "Church", "Reset" featuring Cee-Lo and Khujo Goodie of the Goodie Mob, OutKast's label-mates, and the single "The Way You Move" Feat. Fellow artist, Sleepy Brown. Speakerboxxx, is mainly about struggles in Big's Life, along with THREE Party hits, "Last Call", "The Way YOu Move", and "Ghetto Musick" It features apperances from Sleepy Brown, Killer Mike, Konkrete, Ludacris, Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz, MEllo, Jay Z, Slim Cutta Calhoun, Khujo Goodie, and Cee-Lo Green. Overall ("Speakerboxxx"): 7/10 Lyrics: 6/10 Beats: 8/10 Guest Appearances: 9/10 Comparison to Group/Artist's Other albums: Not as good as Southernplayamistikcaddilacmuzik or Stankonia, ATLiens, Big Boi and Dre Presents: OutKast, and Aquemini in other words, it came short, I expected more. "The Love Below" The more soulfull side, Andre3000 shows some goofy love/life songs, among my favorites are: "Happy Valentine's Day", "Prototype", "Spread", "Roses" "Behold A Lady", and "Hey Ya", which got old fast, rEAL fast. "Roses" features Big Boi, (they recently put a video out for this), a message about a girl who was fine and all, but she was really bi**hy, here is a sample of the song: I know you like to thank Yo, s*** dont stank But lean a lil closer see.... Roses really smell like Boo-Boo, yeah Roses really smell like Boo-Boo I like "The Love Below" better, but towards the end, it loses communication with the Earth, "My Favorite Things", and "Take Off YOurCool" weren't to good, but I loved the Outro, a freestyle by Andre 3000: Are You Startin to gather what I'm gettin at? Now If I'm losing you tell me then I'll double back Keep in mind, at the time Keep It Real Was The Phrase Some even said those were the daze When Spring Break aand Daytona, And "Freaknicks", made you wanna Drop outta college and never go back Move to the south but that aint a Kodak Moment, but onwent, me and Big bo....well you knew him as 'Twon That's right you were around before this s*** begun So rating time: Overall: 9/10 Lyrics: 7/10 Beats: 10/10 Guest Appearances: 6/10 (Kelis, Norah Jones, Fransworth Bentley[P.Diddy's assistant], Big Boi) Comparison to Other OutKast albums: (see Speakerboxx) Double Disc Overall ratings (NOT AVERAGED!) Overall: 8/10 Lyrics: 7/10 Beats: 9.5/10 Guest Appearances: 7/10 Next Week: Usher "Confessions" [ September 07, 2004, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: Trap Muzik ] |

"Yeah" the first single Feat. Ludacris and Lil' Jon, is the only "Club anthem" on here. Everything else is well....a confession. Overall: 9/10 Guests: 2 (Ludacris and Lil' Jon) Songs: 17 -Intro -Yeah -Throwback -Confessions (Skit) -Confessions II -Burn -Caught Up -Superstar (Int) -Superstar -Truth Hurts -Simple Things -Bad Girl -That's What It's Made For -Can U Handle It? -Do It To Me -Take Your Hand -Follow Me |

You've gotta explain why you like it. Do a track-by-track breakdown if you feel like it (although that might be a bit much for 17 tracks). Just try to elaborate a bit. I call next review if that's alright, I'll give you an example then. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Quote of the week: “Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?” – George W. Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Birmingham, AL Gender: Posts: 13,178 Thanks: 965 Thanked 663 Times in 386 Posts | Album REview 5/1 Well, I'm glad that after being rained out of a garage sale, and makin $67, I can come in and listen to such a great album Cee-Lo Green: The Soul Machine One of the best albums of 2004 I have to say, and definetley UNDERRATED! 21 Tracks total, Guests appearances include: Pharrel, Timbaland, Jazze Phae, T.I.,Menta Malone, Ludacris, Big Rube, Chazzie, Sir Cognac G-Rock The Album starts out with Cee-Lo and his son in the studio, and the sun introducing himself (not a background intro) 2. Soul Machine - Very...well....soulful, it's smooth and relaxing 3. Art Of Noise -Features Pharrel, drumed background, I love this song, it's one of my favorites, if you buy this album, make this the second song that you hear. 4. Living Again Nice stepper, besides the background, it didn't give me much to dance about, though the middle is good. 5. I'll Be Around- The hit single featuring Timbaland, great firey beat, and gets through with what he's saying, Definetly to be played at the clubs. 6. The One- Feat, Jazze Phae and T.I., one of the BEST tracks, features my favorite rapper (T.I., I'll do a trap muzik album review later), its about meeting the perfect girl in the club....for tonight, really catchy Cause you the one girl you the one girl you the one girl Put your finger in the air if you the one girl Put your finger in the air if you the one This is produced by Jazze Phae, make this the 3rd song you listen to 7. My Kind Of People - Nice and soulful, didn't quite absorb this one yet, you'll have to get it and do that on your own. 8. Childz Play- Feat. Ludacris, nice song, starts with a children's beat and continues the song like this, he talks about everything he has liek he's a kid, along with everything he's done. Fourth favorite 9. I Am Selling Soul - Odd.......very odd......you'll have to discover yourself 10. All Day Love Affair- What else is needed, okay, he's talkin aobut havin a day out with his girl, things they'd do, but he's talkin to her. Nice, needed to listen to! 11. Evenining News - Good song, talks about earlier when he wasn't in the game (Rap/Soul) and what he had to do to get money. 12. Scrap Metal- TEH FAVURITEZ!!!! My favorite song on the album, it talks about how he doesn't take trash, and anyone hatin can kiss his ass, and I agree. 13. Glockapella - Wasn't too good, I didn't really catch the meanin of this. 14. When We Were Friends- He talks about a childhood friend, from the time they became, until now....*cries* touching 15. Sometimes- It's a spoken word with a different type of beat, (but isn't most rap like this?) 16. Let's Stay Together- Real good, a remake of a classic, you know "Let's Stay Together" I think originally made by Al Green Listen it features Pharrel 17. Die Trying- Describes about the things he's tried to become and did to get this far, truly inspirational, now I more than ever want to get my group's single out 18. [Outro]- His son playing drums, remember the kids only about 2. Lyrics- 9/10 Background- 8/10 Messages- 10/10 Overall- 9.5/10 W.O.W (Words of Wisdom)- GO get it, it DEFINETLY is worth the money, infact it's worth more than that. This has been an album review! Come back next week... Vote for the next review by Me: T.I. Trap Muzik Ludacris Chicken and Beer Alicia Keys Diary Of Alicia Keys Michael Jackson Invincible (Most underated of 2001) |

Syleena Johnson) If "Jesus Walks" doesn't make you think, you have serious problems, I don't wanna give away to much, so I'm leaving the purchase up to you 10 *s highly reccomended 2nd Review: T.I. "trap muzik" Overall: 9/10 T.I.'s second nationally released LP is a classic, but not as good as his first, slept upon album, "I'm Serious" All 16 songs deliver hard messages, and great lyrics, and if you don't find those amusing, listen to the beats "Trap Muzik" (Intro) "I Can't Quit" - talks about the troubles of Clifford Harris (T.I.) things that could've happened and basically saying "I came to far now, I can't quit", compare this song to "Still Ain't Forgave Myself" from "I'm Serious" (2000) "No More Talk"- Things that go on in life that need to end He compares the killing and murder and material, in the rhymes, like Quote:

Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Birmingham, AL Gender: Posts: 13,178 Thanks: 965 Thanked 663 Times in 386 Posts | This week "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" Background Info: The group emerged from Atlanta in 1996 with "Soul Food" they weren't too widely acknowledge because of the East's rule in the rap game at the time being, along with the ongoing Biggie/Tupac era. Close friends with fellow Doungen Family Members, OutKast, Goodie Mob was originally made of 4 members, Cee-Lo, Cameron "Big" Gipp, Will Knight (AKA Khujo Goodie), and Terrence "T-Mo" Barnett. In 2000-01, Cee-Lo went to create his own solo album "Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections" many thought he was going to leave, infact, he didn't until his second solo album, "Cee-Lo Green is the soul Machine", (hence The Goodie Mob album name) Genre: Rap/Soul Release Date: June 29, 2004 Members: 3 1. Synopsis: Intro by Big Rube, a sort of spoken word speech 2. God I Wanna Live feat. Witch Doctor- The group talks about living their life, and thanking God for what they have. 3. 123 Goodie- Talks about how the group has stuck together, and what they went through, and being thankful for what they have. 4. Shawty Wanna Be A Gangsta Talks about the life that the Goodie Mob went through and their regrets and memories. 5. In Da Streets feat. J. Cameron Trapping and everything that went on on their block, and the things they've "Trafficed to the community"~ Tron 6. One Monkey Don't Stop No Show- Despite it's name, it's not talking about Cee-Lo, in a negative way at least. It's just saying that no matter what Happens Goodie Mob is going to be here 7. Dead Folks Obviously a tribute track to those they've lost. Big Gipp's good friend Khujo's cousin and T-Mo's is to everyone (I'll finish review later, I;m getting lazy, so excuse me for the quick reviews of each song) __________________ Season 1- Coming to a Youtube near you....whenever |
