Two: If I'm not to use that as an impression of the band, they why the hell did they make it their first single? ![]() | |

Two: The "rapping" is really a miniscule part of the song, enough so that I don't think it should have been a deterrent to releasing the song as a single. Actually, the rap parts weren't in the original EP version of the song, so you would again be better off listening to their older stuff. |

Seems most people here have only heard Bring Me To Life and My Immortal, and the ones who like it I'd bet only own Fallen... I've got about 60 or 70 of their songs on my computer, some of which are extremely rare, and I love the band to death. Oh, and to clear it up, the man singing in Bring Me To Life isn't even in the band. (Paul McCoy of '12 Stones', fyi) A few of my favourite songs are Imaginary (Fallen Version), My Immortal (Band Version), Forgive Me, Understanding, My Immortal (Mystary Version), Lies, and Eternal. And I have to say... Quote:

And what's her face's vocal style reminds me of the way Elton John used to write for Disney. Ich. ![]() [ May 13, 2005, 12:50 AM: Message edited by: IT CAME FROM BEYOND ] |

Waaaaay too angsty for my liking, though. Seems like the people who listen to Evanescence religiously (Funny, 'cuz they claim to be Christian) are the fat emo kids who annoy the everloving crap out of me. ~Dylan |

I mean, what is the most favorite band that you'd prefer to hear than Evanescence any time of the day? And give a good reason why you want to hear it than hearing Evanescence all day... |

If you want depressing music... My Dying Bride or Candlemass over Evenescense any day of the week and more. My Dying Bride is the most depressing music you will EVER listen to. and if your into some nice piano pieces...One of the most impressive songs I have heard in a rock/metal with piano is Arcturus - Starcrossed. Never had a thing wrong with Evanescence, myself. My Immortal was... an important song to me, for a while. Ahh, time. |

Possibly the only thing worse is Creed. So just about anything. And for the record, I'm a fan of actual industrial and metal and goth rock. It's not bad enough that their music sickens me, but they've given me a personal vendetta against them with MTV and Rolling Stone's hyping them as similar to NIN, or goth metal, or anything else. ![]() |

Happy songs, sad songs, piano songs...mainly piano songs, actually, with some small guitar solos on occasion. If you want to judge the Evanescence that most of it's fans like (the good fans, not the know-nothing mother ****ers that pretend to be gothic because it's "cool" and could care less about the music) listen to their old music. And yes, Amy Lee really does sing like that...there was a concert near where I lived that my friend went to, and she was 99% sure that she wasn't lip-synching...and that friend is very good at being able to tell that sort of thing. Anyway...my favorite songs are probably "Anywhere", "My Immortal" (the good version), "Where Will You Go", and "Away From Me". |
