There's some songs that have a certain something about it, a like "hmph" that all the others don't have, that are constructed in such a way that all the different chords work together and all the crescendos are just in the right place to summon a feeling that's hard to describe, a feeling of sort of inspiration and overwhelming emotional power. I think that's what truly defines a great song. If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to the following songs:

"Since I've Been Loving You" by Led Zeppelin
"Us and Them" or "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd (or just about any other Pink Floyd song, as a matter of fact).

Can you think of any other songs that inspire this kind of feeling? I'm trying to find as many as I can.

Quote of the week:
"I went to a fight the other night and a hockey game broke out."- Rodney Dangerfield.

Pointless fact of the week:
The word “trivia” comes from the Latin "tri-" + "via", which means three streets. This is because in ancient times, at an intersection of three streets in Rome, they would have a type of kiosk where ancillary information was listed. You might be interested in it, you might not, so they were bits of “trivia."

I know precisely what you mean, but my media library (nearly 9000 songs) is currently down cuz of an unexpected hard drive malfunction, so I can't really listen to those songs (which I'm sure I have... I've got almost all Pink Floyd and Zeppelin songs).

Well, I'm actually glad you bumped this ^.

OutKast- The Train.....wow, maybe it's because of my situation, but it made me drop down when I replayed it over and over last night.

Two Queen songs that immediately spring to mind are Save Me and The Show Must Go On.
