Gah. I had a really long post lined up, but then my computer decided it didn't like me anymore. I'll post on this later.

I'm not that into Godsmack, but I've been listening to Rage since I was five years old. Zero credibility? Sure...

P.S. Godsmack kind of sucked when I saw them live with Metallica. Maybe that's just because I couldn't hear well with the swearing drunk that was sitting next to me.

I wouldn't consider AC/DC metal. Not enough usage of the bass.

^That's kind of true. But I still love AC/DC. Would they be classic rock?

If they're not metal then hard rcok definetly. Classic Rock would be like the Beatles and Rolling Stones.

Compared to Rock, Rap sucks BIG TIME. I Like some rap, Run-DMC is the best, but most of it really sucks. Plus it don't take much talent to be a rapper.

They play a lot of AC/DC on the classic rock station that I listen to.

Doesn't take much talent to be a rapper?

Compared to those screaming heavy metalists that dont even write any lyrics but just scream unknown words instead, rap is hard. Rap isn't all about talking like everyone thinks, and it is VERY hard to become a rapper. I rap, and I've had to work hard to be where I am. Believe me, it's no walk in the park.

Rock? What, you mean that one genre with a whole 3 instruments? Please! Been there, done that, moved on.

Since rap doesn't take much talent, spit a 100 bar freestyle for me. Stay on the rhythm, no repeating lyrics, and no biting lyrics from other rappers. No pausing to think of more rhymes, either.

Look, don't talk **** about what you don't know **** about.

I'm gonna assume that's sarcasm, meant to poke fun at Lava's ignorance.

Actually, there is quite some truth in what I said about rock music. Although there are some exceptions, the whole genre revolves mainly around the guitar, the bass, and the drums. Rap often includes all three of those instruments plus horns, saxophones, flutes, violins... hell, ANY instrument, you can find it in rap.

Metallica's S&M album was recorded with the San Fransisco symphony...violins....cello....etc.

Does that count?

Like I said, there are some exceptions. I liked S&M ... the first 4080 times my cousin played the DVD.

S&M was pure awesomeness. That's all I have to say. As for rap music, I really can't tell one artist from another. They all sound kind of alike. But I'm sure many people think that all rock music sounds the same, too.

For my tastes, it usually has to have a guitar, or I automatically don't like it.
