Yes,I iz

it's okay Parakarry, a LOT of people don't know who the hell T.I. is. A lot of hardcore rap fans that don't live in the south, or even in Atlanta, didn't know who he was until "24s" and really "Rubber Band Man", which was his breakthrough hit, his first ever video to be played on MTV airwaves. (boy THAT's an achievement , I was hoping myself MTV would never catch wif of him, I just don't like the fact that MTV fans don't dig in to their artists, and only listen to one song repeatedly)

The Strokes. My friend is completely obsessed with them, but when I heard them on the radio, I didn't think they were that great...

Let's hope this is like the videogaming crisis by '83. I'd be happy if it were like that.

I like Radiohead's songs, but their albums are all so monotonous.

Guns and Roses- AXL's voice might have been less annoying if he'd change it once and a while. Solid screaming annoys me (I have a similar problem with AC-DC and numerous other of those classic rock bands).

The Beastie Boys. Sorry.

That's not entirely true from a historic point of view, actually. Think about it: first you had Greece and Rome, the age of philosophers, an organized government, the earliest forms of democracy (though, of course, democracy was only for the rich back then), the creation of aqueducts and many, many more inventions that have made life for us better. Then, after such a glorious, civilized age that made many advancements in the way of life, came the Dark Age. Think of it this way: first there's an age of enlightenment, then the dark age, then an age of enlightenment again, then another dark age, and so on.

So music is bound to pick up sooner or later. There's plenty of people in the world who think that modern, mainstream music sucks (just look at these very boards), so there has to be some ingenious musician out there who'll start the revolution sooner or later.

It was all going well until the Sex Pistols decided to come and screw it up. *sigh...*

The Who: I like "Pinball Wizard" but i just dont like anything else of their's. Too many people are into The Who at my school.

John Lennon: I GET his music, i just dont get why he became a Hairy Amish Hippie.

Slipknot: Why are people in my town into this? They are nothing special.

Anything new in the last 6 years: Do I have to explain?

Beleive it or not, hardly anyone in my school knows who Kurt Cobain is, but they all know who John Lennon is. But almost everyone is into classic rock in my school so yknow...

Yeah, I notice a lot of people are beginning to "relapse" from Rap. Let's hope it gets more widespread...

^^I very much doubt that. The saviors of rock tend to come in and kick every other band's ass the instant they make a commercial appearance. Basically, if they haven't made their presence known by their first or second album, they never will.

Besides, I don't think heavy metal could ever sell in ridiculous numbers, as most people (including me) don't have ears for that kind of stuff. Here's a pretty funny article on it that's actually pretty true (except for the end ).

There's a lot self-proclaimed "rock" magazines that'll instantly stamp the newest band that is slightly less ****ty than all the other current mainstream bands with "Savior of Rock." (How many bands have been proclaimed the saviors of rock by journalists in the past 2 years? 5 or so?) But I say that when the real saviors of rock come (if they ever do), we'll KNOW who they are.
