One thing that I always notive around VGF is that barely any of us mention any female artists they like. So this topic is simple: Post your favorite female artists, discuss them, debate over them, talk about how beautiful women usually have crappy music and not-exactly-beautiful women often have great music.

Anyways, my favorite female artists:

Erykah Badu
Alicia Keys
Angie Stone
Lauryn Hill

The singer from Portishead, and the many women to work with Massive Attack are cool. The Sneaker Pimps' vocalist is awesome, too. Shirley Manson from Garbage is cool. Juliet Lewis kicks some serious ass with the Prodigy. I think Bjork is cool, as well. As far as groups with ladies that rock go, I'd mention Snake River Conspiracy, the Kidney Thieves, the Genitorturers, KMFDM, Jack off Jill & Scarling (same vocalist), and the Birthday Massacre.. Off the top of my head, that is. Half my favorite music is performed by women.
I'd say that's fair.

I like No Doubt, but her solo stuff reeks. (and it's Stefani)

Shakira
Norah Jones
Joss Stone
Alanis Morissette
Aretha Franklin
Alicia Keys
That chick from Sixpence None the Richer

Haven't heard enough Bjork yet to form a valid opinion.
I recently started listening to some Etta James; she's cool.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Holy bleep, how did I forget Janis!?

Amy Lee has a great voice, but I really can't stand Evanescence.

I also kinda like Chrissy Hynde (which I probably spelled wrong) from the Pretenders.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
