On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot to death by Mark David Chapman. While The Beatles aren't always my favorite band, they'll always be the best band ever. The collaborative genius of Paul McCartney and John Lennon produced a great musical revolution and some of the most beautiful songs ever written. So, to honor John Lennon's weighty contributions to the music world, today at chez Vinny will be Beatles-and-Lennon-listening day. Hail to the best band ever! |

After that I also went on to read the bios of the other Beatles, and while I knew Lennon died in 1980, I didn't know what day, and I noticed it was today. Pretty weird. The man truly was a genius, and it is an eternal waste that he died before his time at the hands of a madman. RIP John Lennon EDIT: More weird coincidences: at the exact moment I clicked the add post button 'Strawberry Fields Forever' started to play in my playlist with over a 1000 songs set to shuffle.
