I think it's a great medium. I love to see live performances of my favourite songs by my favourite artists, especially if they're also remixed in 5.1 surround. Video collections are also nice, but here 5.1 is really a requirement in my opinion. Otherwise the audio is exactly the same as on a CD. Here's my current collection: Queen - Greatest Video Hits I Queen - Greatest Video Hits II Queen - Live At Wembley Stadium Queen On Fire - Live At The Bowl Queen - We Will Rock You (a 1981 concert in Montreal, not the musical) Queen + - The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert Queen + Paul Rodgers - Return Of The Champions Queen - A Night At The Opera 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition Supertramp - The Story So Far The Police - Synchronicity Concert Toto - Live In Amsterdam Cat Stevens - Majikat Earth Tour 1976 And I have ordered the following, which should arrive soon: Dire Straits - On The Night Alan Parsons - Live In Madrid [ December 13, 2005, 04:40 PM: Message edited by: Koga ] |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

If I were you, I'd get Live At The Bowl before ROTC (unless you are a Paul Rodgers fan). |

Queen were really a four-man act, more so than most of the other bands, as they all wrote songs all played instruments and all but John sang lead vocals. Queen + Paul Rodgers is really half of Queen plus Paul Rodgers. Still great, especially live, but not a shadow of the band it used to be. |

The Dire Straits and Alan Parsons DVDs have also arrived. Both are a bit bare, with no extras and no surround sound, but they're the only live DVDs of those artists around. |

An really good concert with the classic Mark II lineup, and an amazing performance of one of my favourite songs of all time: Child In Time. |

The making of A Night At The Opera from the classic album series. It's a great DVD with in depth analyses of the songs, live riffs by Brian May, a drum lesson by Roger Taylor, and some of the backing tracks and vocals can be heard in isolation. |
