It was a big deal back in the 70s but for the last decade no-one has given a crap and it's been populated by terrible terrible pop bands who drop off the face of the earth (thankfully) straight after it whether they win or lose. But not anymore. Lordi is coming. ![]() I can't wait to see what this is like, these chainsaw wielding, prosthetic wearing heavy rockers are gonna turn the mild Eurovision, with all its nicey nice pop identi-kit bands, upside down. |

I think I've heard they're Finnish. I haven't watched it in years and the Dutch contestants have finished very low in the last 5 years or so. At times the songs weren't even that bad, but you don't win with a good song, you need a catchy song, preferably with some gimmick. To illustrate how important it was in the 70s: ABBA got their breakthrough with this contest. |

The british entry this year is horrendous, like most years, and makes me think why people even bother. But yes Lordi are Finnish, and they're going to make this thing worth watching if just to see he look on everyone elses face. |

| Yay it's vote for the country nearest to you time. Going to ignore it this year. No matter who is in it. | |
