I've always liked a couple of songs of this band, but I really got into them through a friend of mine. He's the type of guy that always downloads his favourite music whenever he's at someone else's and plays it all night. While I mostly delete all the songs he downloads the next morning (mostly Dutch artists), I liked the songs he downloaded from the Police, and downloaded a couple of more. While I don't own any official CDs I did get their DVD: Synchronicity concert, which I really enjoyed.

My favourite songs include: So Lonely, Roxanne, Can't Stand Losing You, Message In a Bottle, Walking On The Moon, Don't Stand So Close To Me, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da (best song title ever), Every Little Thing She Does IS Magic, Spirits in the Material World and of course Every Breath You Take.

I think it's too bad they broke up; though I like some solo songs by Sting, I don't think they're nowhere near as good as the songs he did with the Police.

The Police definitely had an awesome groove, which Sting on his own has yet to remotely match.

Sidebar, your honor: Sting's son's band, Fiction Plane, is none too shabby either--at least based on "If Only".

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I was really upset when my friends kept playing the Roxanne remake by that other band. I had no choice but to retaliate with the Police version of Roxanne really loudly.

Some other great songs include Message in a Bottle, Spirits in a Material World, Every Breath You Take, and Walking on the Moon. -CSM

At the moment, a remix of Message in a Bottle is quite a big hit over here. It's almost the same song, but they put a house beat under it. I really dislike these kinds of remixes, as they don't add anything to the original, and often take away from it.

"House beats" don't often take away from it; they always take away from it.
