He's the creepy fellow responsible for images like this: ![]() The entire video (except the lengthy intro) from Windowlicker features booty-dancer chicks ala later 90's rap, with the minor detail that they all feature some form of groteque charicature of his face as their own. He's quite honestly the closest thing we have to a father of the IDM genre, having brought to it mainstream exposure, and set many of its boundaries. Heh, I think Come to Daddy is probably the most memorable of his songs, with it having the lyrics "I want your soul, I will eat your soul" and "Come to Daddy" repeating (albeit manipulated) throughout most of the track. Seems his last video, Rubber Johnny, became a bit of an internet phenomenon a little while back. Yeah, if you don't recognize Windowlicker or Come to Daddy, then you've probably never heard him. However, you should really check out Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and Volume 2. His best, in my opinion. |

Suggestions are always welcome, but next week's band will be one of my own choice. |
