For a long time, I wasn't a big fan of his music, although I liked some of his songs. Under Pressure is one of my favourite songs, though and some people told me I should listen to more Bowie songs. He also features on two of my DVDs, Live Aid and the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert (with two of his own songs as well), and that was when I first started to like him.

I wanted to get a live DVD, but whenever I saw one in the store I realised I didn't know that many of his songs, so I decided to get his Platinum collection instead. Unlike Codie, I quite like it, especially the first album, with songs like Jean Genie, Ziggy Stardust, Rebel Rebel, Sufraggete City, Changes, All The Young Dudes and one of my favourites Space Oddity.

I didn't like his 1974-1979 CD as much, although there are still songs I like, such as Sound and Vision, TVC 15, 1984 and "Heroes".

I like his 3rd period, better than the second. The songs are a bit more poppy, but I don't mind that. From this period my favourites include Let's Dance, Ashes to Ashes, Modern Love, China Girl, This Is Not America, and of course Under Pressure.

I didn't get the Platinum Collection, I got the two-disc Greatest Hits (or Best of, whatever it's called).

Didn't he sing "Under Pressure" once with Queen?

You mean live? He sang it at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert with May, Deacon and Taylor and Annie Lennox taking over Freddie's vocals.

Other than that and the studio version, they never played it together, although both Bowie and Queen played it during their own tours.

In case you were wondering, it's a Bowie + Queen song. They wrote and recorded it together, and there are no studio versions were either Queen or Bowie is absent.

Is that divided into eras as well, or is it just in random order? I think the Platinum Collection is just three Best of Bowie albums in one. In fact, it says on the discs "The Best of David Bowie 19xx/19xx".

I've always loved his album Earthling, and I would consider myself a fan of his early 90's band "Tin Machine," although I've never been able to find any of their stuff to purchase. He's got a lot of history, it's nearly impossible to like all of his stuff. I'm not big on his 80's material, for instance, but I think Ziggy was ingenious.

I saw him live on his Reality tour. My favorite song of his is definitely "Afraid of Americans," although I like the mix Trent Reznor did best.

I actually haven't heard any of his 90s music. The reality tour DVD was one of the DVDs I was thinking of getting, but I'm still not sure which I'm going to get.

Also, thanks for reminding me that I need to update the AotW.
