Black Sails in the Sunset, All Hallow's EP, and the Art of Drowning were good. I like the prelude to DecemberUnderground, but I can't say much for the rest of the album. They seem to have really lost some of their energy, honestly.

No, they actually became poppier. Maybe Davey wears more makeup nowadays, but "Miss Murder" is pop punk through and through, with a few touches of post-hardcore.

Their pre-Sing the Sorrow days were just as bad. Same stupidly written lyrics, same annoying Davey Havok, everything was the same. Go read the lyrics to 3 1/2 some time; how am I supposed to take that seriously?

Honestly, I'm an AFI fan but their new stuff isnt doing it for me. It's 10x more poppy than any of their other stuff, sounds like maybe they sold out a bit.

I've never minded the lyrics - some music isn't meant to be serious, Mush. Obviously you're not into the whole Danzig-esque sound.

Davey is all right, he's really lost a lot of his kind of fun edge, though. They're trying too hard to sound gloomy. They've got too many ties to Psychobilly to really do that sort of thing.
