I’m not really sure why.) I like the Alan Parsons Project almost as much as I like Queen, and this is a particular favourite of mine. It was quite a big hit in England and other parts of Europe, so you should be able to find it on filesharing programs like LimeWire. The APP has songs in many different styles and genres, but they are very good at ballads like this one. I think the musical introduction is brilliant, and the melodies of the two verses are beautiful as well. As you can see by the lyrics the two verses are almost identical, but with subtle differences in the lyrics, which are very well sung by Colin Blunstone, lead singer of the Zombies. I think they are mournful, but paradoxically at the same time uplifting (“remember that you were a friend of mine”). And just when the song seems to have ended, there’s that wonderful saxophone solo by Mel Collins, which seems to go on and on. This is quite simply, one of my favourite songs of all time. Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek6VXJPkJPg Unfortunately, it cuts just before the sax solo. Also don’t watch the video when listening to the song. It’s fan made, and not related to the song. |

This is also the format you should be posting your favourite song. First some general information (doesn't have to be exactly the same as I put), then the lyrics, a short description why you chose this song as song of the week and finally a youtube link if you can fine one (because it's much easier for others to hear the song that way). I put length there, so that when you download a song you can verify whether you have a good version or not. Many songs have single and album versions and I find that in many cases there is quite a big difference. I will follow the list as I posted it in the sign up topic. I will PM the next one on the list once a new topic has been posted, and if I don't get a reply in time I'll move to the next of the list. New topics will be posted on Sundays: you can either post them yourselves or PM me the contents. Next on the list is ShineDude. Of course, if you didn't sign up yet, but want to you can do so in this topic. The current list is as follows: Sign up list: - Koga - Shine Dude - HotD - Noirtier - Andre - Malik - Marshman - Brandon - L2000 |

In my opinion, it's nicer to chose a relatively unknown song that you really like and want to share with other people. So go click that Youtube link and tell me what you think *shakes fist* |
