| All I Ever Wanted Was To Pick Apart the Day & Put the Pieces Back Together My Way | Grammy nominations out / Bomby evaluates & predicts rap nominees GRAMMY.com - 49th Annual Grammy Awards Nominee List My predictions for rap categories: Best Rap Solo Performance Touch It Busta Rhymes We Run This Missy Elliott Kick, Push Lupe Fiasco Undeniable Mos Def What You Know T.I. Who will win: T.I. Who deserves to win: Lupe Fiasco Comments: Overall a solid list. No complaints here. Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group Ridin Chamillionaire Featuring Krayzie Bone Georgia Ludacris & Field Mob (Featuring Jamie Foxx) Grillz Nelly Featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp Track from: Sweatsuit Mighty "O" Outkast Don't Feel Right The Roots Who will win: Chamillionaire Who deserves to win: Either OutKast or the Roots. Commentary: Grillz? Really? What an awful song. As long as that doesn't win, the Academy will retain whatever little spec of respect I have for them. I would've loved to see Tha Dogg Pound's "Cali Iz Active" here, but didn't expect it. Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Smack That Akon Featuring Eminem Deja Vu Beyoncé Featuring Jay-Z Shake That Eminem Featuring Nate Dogg Unpredictable Jamie Foxx Featuring Ludacris My Love Justin Timberlake Featuring T.I. Who will win: Jamie Foxx & Ludacris Who deserves to win: ... Ghostface, but he wasn't nominated... Commentary: To be honest, I didn't really care for any of these songs. But then again, what do you expect in a category that promotes watering down of rap music. Best Rap Song It's Goin' Down Chadron Moore & Jasiel Robinson, songwriters (Yung Joc) Kick, Push Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, songwriter (Lupe Fiasco) Money Maker Christopher Bridges & Pharrell Williams, songwriters (Ludacris Featuring Pharrell) Ridin Anthony Henderson, J. Slainas, O. Salinas & Hakeem Seriki, songwriters (Chamillionaire Featuring Krayzie Bone) What You Know A. Davis & Clifford Harris, songwriters; (Donny Hathaway, Leroy Hutson & Curtis Mayfield, songwriters)(T.I.) Who Will Win: Either T.I. or Chamillionaire Who deserves to win: Lupe, but I wouldn't be mad if T.I. or Cham won. Commentary: Young Joc? That dude's not even a real rapper. Ludacris is a great rapper, but "Money Maker?" There were better songs than that. Best Rap Album Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor Lupe Fiasco Release Therapy Ludacris In My Mind Pharrell Game Theory The Roots King T.I. Who will win: T.I. or Lupe Fiasco Who deserves to win: The Roots Commentary: Replace Pharrell with OutKast or Ghostface and you'd have a perfect list. "In My Mind" was beyond a disappointment. Pharrell needs to stick to making beats and stay away from the mic. Release Therapy was a bit uneven, but earned its nomination. Last edited by Bomby; 12-07-2006 at 01:51 PM. |

I mean, it's cool that Straight Outta Lynwood can win 2 awards and all, but how could you even judge something like that? "Well, this album is more surrounding than the others?" And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| All I Ever Wanted Was To Pick Apart the Day & Put the Pieces Back Together My Way | ^ The overall mastering of the album. Believe it or not, many people, including myself, do pay attention to that technical stuff. |
