A talented composer and musician, Miles Davis is known as quite possibly the greatest genius in jazz history. He played alongside other legends like John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock, and was the first to incorporate electric keyboards and the wah wah into jazz. "Kind of Blue" is one of the most groundbreaking albums ever, and Miles Davis is simply unique due to his own, unmistakeable sound much unlike any other trumpet player's. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Quote of the week: "The only difference between a dead skunk lying in the road and a dead lawyer lying in the road is that there are skid marks around the skunk." - Patrick Murray. ![]() Pointless fact of the week: In 1963, baseball pitcher Gaylord Perry remarked, "They'll put a man on the moon before I hit a home run." On July 20, 1969, a few hours after Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, Gaylord Perry hit his first, and only, home run. |

| Guest | A) Yeah. B) Buddy. C) Yeah, buddy! D) I don't live too far from Alton, but we don't hear a lot about him for some reason, not even around his birthday. It's weird. But then, we don't hear much about Scott Joplin either, and he's actually from my city. It's still weird. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
