Killswitch Engage Protest the Hero Opeth Children of Bodom HORSE the Band All That Remains Avenged Sevenfold (just Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, everything after that is terrible) In Flames At the Drive-In Thursday Sepultura Pantera (not as much as the others with intensity of screaming, It's kind of like a scream-sing hybrid) Edit: How could I forget The Fall of Troy? They're the best metalcore band out there. Oh, and Against Me! wouldn't nearly be as awesome as they are if Tom Gabel didn't have that emotional scream on their first few albums. |

I like the dynamic, as it takes range to scream, growl, and hit high and low register clean vocals in one song. Dredg used to growl on early records, but since Gavin switched to clean vocals completely, they don't truly count. Tool also incorporates a fair bit of growling in a lot of their songs, so I count them as well. |

So I may end up enjoying growls a bit more, since Akerfeldt is damn good at it. Last edited by Galefore; 03-01-2009 at 12:27 PM. |

Just sit down and listen to "White Walls", doing nothing else. You can thank me later. Others: Protest the Hero Mastodon The Dillinger Escape Plan The Human Abstract Cynic Black Dahlia Murder Municipal Waste Every Time I Die HORSE the Band (second'd) The Acacia Strain Darkest Hour Someone mentioned Bodom, so here's some more viking/folk/black metal with non-clean vocals: Amon Amarth Catamenia Eluveitie Ensiferum Wintersun Finntroll Korpiklaani Moonsorrow Nachtmystium |
