Are you looking for any artists/bands similar to any others? And what do you consider "newer"? I generally go with 90s-current, but also tend to throw in a few late 80s bands like Sonic Youth, The Replacements, and R.E.M. into my recommendations lists. |

This is mostly to cancel bands like AC/DC and led zeppilin, because I already have their songs. |

Here are a few "pop punk" bands to go along with Simple Plan: Alkaline Trio The Bouncing Souls Green Day Motion City Soundtrack The Offspring Say Anything Also, ska punk is in my opinion is much catchier than "pop punk" and is more punkish too: Big D and the Kids Table Catch 22 Goldfinger Less Than Jake Mustard Plug No Doubt Reel Big Fish Streetlight Manifesto These bands aren't really "good" in my opinion, but they're decent enough to check out: blink-182 Ludo Relient K Sum 40 Yellowcard I listened to a few Skillet songs, but I'm not overall very familiar with them, they sound kinda post-grunge. Here are some bands in that category: Audioslave Bush Everclear Foo Fighters Our Lady Peace |

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

Gender: Posts: 7,590 Thanks: 119 Thanked 418 Times in 306 Posts Blog Entries: 5 | I don't know much newer rock, but I can definitely suggest something 'alternative'. They aren't really new, but that doesn't matter because I doubt you have heard of any of them. Dr. Steel - Back and Forth Too awesome to simply explain, he's an experience. If you like Steampunk style, exploding puppets, geek music, crazy remixes, or just anything that doesn't suck, you should check him out. Karma to Burn - Thirty No lyrics, no vocals, not even unintelligible grunting; just heavy music. Guitar Wolf - Jet Generation Japanese Rockbilly, a phenomenon where attitude, style, and volume take precedence over skill or talent. The real albums come with a warning label. Warning: this is the loudest album ever recorded. Playing at normal volume may cause irreparable damage to stereo equipment. Use at your own risk. Gogol Bordello - Wonderlust King They practically have an entire genre of Gypsy Punk to themselves. A mix of traditional and modern styles. It may be a bit too bizarre at first, but give it a chance. Mindless Self Indulgence - Backmask (explicit) Independent shock rock. This one comes with a warning label as well. "You must listen to this album with your tongue planted firmly in your cheek. If you don't have a sense of irony, or you are a piece of **** bigot, or a fundamentalist anything, return this album immediately, don't come to our shows, don't wear our t-shirts. **** off. If you're a parent who neglects, beats, or doesn't show your child love, know that we don't condone violence so don't waste our time in court while you try to explain to a jury how our music made your "happy & normal" child into a deranged lunatic. | ||||||||||

Electric light orchestra/the orchestra Tom Jones (Ok you mother would probably be all up the walls if you started to listen to him, he have a great voice) Duane Eddy (Good in small doses, can be repetetive Don't forget the ones that started it. |

Most of there songs are from sonic adventure and on, but they have original songs as well, and not all are high energy rock. Oh, and Evanescence rocks. |
