Confess: The Guilty Pleasures Thread

Everyone has music that they hate to admit they love for fear of losing their hipster status massive ridicule from their friends.

My Guilty Pleasures:

KoRn
"Shut up and Let Me Go" by The Ting-Tings
"Accidentally in Love" by the Counting Crows
some Coldplay
old Eminem (which really shouldn't be a guilty pleasure...)

^ I don't really think old Eminem is really a guilty pleasure, even for hipsters. Hell, some hipsters listen to even newer Eminem and 50 Cent. (though most stick to stuff along the lines of Lil Wayne, Kanye, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Wu-Tang, and other artists praised by sites like Pitchfork)

Anyway:
Avenged Sevenfold (early stuff, newer stuff is garbage)
some Disturbed
Linkin Park (but only when collaborating with Jay-Z)
Maroon 5

Eminem is always a guilty pleasure when in conversation with almost any self-respecting woman.

50 Cent is a guilty pleasure because he's really just not that talented.

^ Meh, I was just saying that quite a few hipsters listen to 50 and Eminem's later stuff, and probably worse (like straight up G-Unit stuff)

I think that Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson is an incredible song.

Screw it, I don't feel guilty.

The remarkable amount of video game and movie soundtracks on my iPod could probably fall into that category.

I could probably mention something that I might be ridiculed for, but I don't feel guilty for liking it.
For example, I like Michael Jackson's thriller album, and I also think that the music that was used in Digimon's season 2 was awesome.
Like I said, I don't care what people think, and I don't feel guilty.

I think there's one Fall Out Boy song I like.

Just one, though. The rest is useless.

Counting Crows' Round Here and Mr. Jones. They remind me of my musical self discovery bull**** period. So I still love 'em.

Anyone who thinks enjoying Michael Jackson's music is/should be a guilty pleasure is probably too young to remember when he was awesome. His personal choices have made the poor guy into a very strange person these days, but the music he used to make is often nothing short of genius. Thriller, as a whole, is incredible.

Eminem has some pretty great songs. These "self-respecting women" you've been talking to are probably just bitchy, Bomby.

Hmm. Bomfunk MC "Freestyler", Britney Spears "Everytime", Kelly Clarkson "Beautiful Disaster [live acoustic version]", Moby "At Least We Tried", Limp Biskit "Behind Blue Eyes" (yes, I like their cover a lot more than the original, or the other covers I've heard), The Bee Gees "New York Mining Disaster", Linkin Park "Breaking the Habit", Justin Timberlake "Cry Me a River", Evanescence "Hello", and The Spice Girls "Viva Forever". From the Casper soundtrack, Jordan Hill "Remember Me This Way", from the Toy Story 2 soundtrack, Sarah McLachlan "When She Loved Me", and from the Rugrats In Paris soundtrack, Sinead O'Connor "When You Love". In general, I've liked a lot of songs by Celine Dion, Meatloaf, Chris de Burgh, Richard Marx, Bon Jovi, and Elton John, and I suppose you could call them almost guilty pleasures.

Also, The Gay Pimp "Soccer Practice". XD

^"Billie Jean" is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Honestly, I don't have many guilty pleasures. I think the guiltiest pleasure I would have among you guys is Kings of Leon. Also, that Coldplay song "Talk".

What SD said about thriller is basicly what I've tried to say, but I'm never listened to.
I was just saying that ,
i would probably be laughed at by most of my peers for liking it.

But like I said, I don't care much what they think about my tastes.
