What's your genre?

I'm just curious what tastes everybody has.

I'm definitely a rocker, mostly an 80's rocker, but I listen to other forms of rock, too. Mainly hard rock, but I do listen to softer bands such as Aerosmith and Weezer. I also listen to a lot of metal, Metallica and SoaD to name a few. I'd have to say that the hardest band I listen to is Cannibal Corpse. Yeah. You can tell they're hard. I like bands like Guns 'n' Roses, AC/DC, Green Day, Hollywood Undead, Linkin Park, stuff like that. That's mostly the music I listen to.

I do listen to a little bit of pop. A little bit, but not much. I listen to All American Rejects, 3oh!3 (Don't Trust Me is catchy, alright?), and a few others.

I also listen to maybe...3 or 4 rap artists. I like Kayne, really that's the only one I can name off the top of my head

I have an absolutely zero-tolerance level with country. I hate it. I HATE IT. So I don't listen to country at all.

What's your genre?

If you're listening to any other genre besides these 4, explain and give a few examples of bands.

what if i listen to whatever strikes me as good and that includes all of the above

Though my most common genre tag is probably "lo-fi"

I'll listen to any and every genre of music, as long as the song itself is good.

I'm very partial to jazz.

The moment I realized I was an adult was the moment I realized I had very little attachment to genre.

I realize that probably sounds a bit condescending, but I believe open-mindedness is one of the best attributes a human can have.

Pretty much what Val and Panfan said...

If I absolutely had to pick a favorite, it'd have to be either, "Alternative Rock," or, "Punk Rock", techno, or metal, or hip hop, or.... Dammit, I haven't a favorite.

My favorite genre is the musical one.

I listen to good music. I believe every genre has good music.(Though I haven't really found any country I like yet..) I do have an attachment to hip hop since I make it myself, and I do listen to it more than other genre's...but I have songs from just about every genre of music I can think of on my Itunes.

I tired make an actual answer, but every time I tried to define it, I can up with too many exceptions.
Really, I just listen to whatever strikes my fancy, with the majority being Americana and Punk, often combined.

EDIT: ^ Can you really hate Devil Went Down to Georgia?

"Alt country" is a pretty good genre imo.

Okkervil River, Wilco, Bill Callahan, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Band of Horses, Sufjan Stevens, Bright Eyes, and more

also referred to as "indie folk" and "baroque pop" among other things

Whats wrong with 30h3?

I listen to quite abit, i wont touch country, its just makes me puke, but most of what i listen to is hardcore/metalcore stuff like TDWP, August Burns Red, stuff with alot of screaming.
Also i like Acoustic stuff alot like the scene aesthetic, Dallas Green, and BackSeat Goodbye
Right now my fave band is prolly Upon Beauty Rests even thought hey broke up a while back, they fit more in the screamo category.

I listen to what catches my ear, if I like it, it goes in my Zune, and I play it.

I am partial to Rap and R&B because I grew up on those (R&B in particular) but recently I've expanded my rock and alternative database. I'm trying to get some Foo Fighters and Dashboard Confessional albums because I want to take a listen to more than I have right now.

In Hip-Hop, my favorite artists are Cee-Lo, OutKast, Bobby Ray, Busdriver and T.I. among others.

One thing I hate is when people say X genre sucks (mainly when they say Rap) because that tells me that they don't listen to anything, they just base it off what's played on the radio. Which, that's a whole nother discussion.

Well, let's see what iTunes says I like.

...

I see lots of Alternative and Unclassifiable. Lots of Pop and Other. And Alternative & Punk and Rock. And for some reason, Weird Al is labeled as Books & Spoken.

I like Techno/Electronic and Comedy the best.

Acid rules also. I need moar Acid songs.

Eh, I'm only a bit bound to a specific genre.

I definitely consider myself primarily into Progressive and other forms of Art Rock, but find myself highly enjoying Flobots, Shiny Toy Guns, R.E.M. and others. So I'm mainly a proghead but don't limit myself.
