Usually when people think Pitchfork they think Radiohead and indie bands, but there's a helluva lot of pop and mainstream rap (Beyonce is in the top 5). I think that "Fireworks" by Animal Collective should've totally been #1 though. That song is perfect in every way. Awaiting the top albums of the decade later on in the year. I feel like listening to at least the top 100 this week. Top 25 songs rated by Panfan: 25. Rihanna feat. Jay-Z - Umbrella (5/10) 24. Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place(10/10) 23. Daft Punk - Digital Love (9/10) 22. LCD Soundsystem - Someone Great (8/10) 21. Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone (7/10) 20. The Walkmen - The Rat (9/10) 19. R. Kelly - Ignition (7/10) 18. Hercules and Love Affair - Blind (10/10) 17. Annie - Heartbeat (Can't find a non remix track) 16. The Rapture - House of Jealous Lovers (9/10) 15. The Knife - Heartbeats (10/10) 14. Jay-Z - 99 Problems (8/10) 13. LCD Soundsystem - Losing My Edge (8/10) 12. OutKast - Hey Ya! (9/10) 11. Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (9/10) 10. Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (10/10) 9. Animal Collective - My Girls (10/10) 8. Radiohead - Idioteque (10/10) 7. Missy Elliott - Get Ur Freak On (8/10) 6. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps (9/10) 5. Daft Punk - One More Time (8/10) 4. Beyonce feat. Jay-Z - Crazy in Love (7/10) 3. M.I.A. feat. Bun B & Rich Boy - Paper Planes (10/10) 2. LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends (9/10) 1. OutKast - B.O.B. I am rather surprised and delighted to see that the #1 song also happens to be one of my favorite songs of all time. Though I am disappointed not to see "Take Pills" by Panda Bear anywhere on the list. |

What the heck kind of logic is that? And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I think they meant to say that it was her best song. Though I'd prefer it if they put Antony and the Johnsons' rendition of Crazy in Love in it instead. Also I understand the large amount of Jay-Z, but I don't think LCD Soundsystem is worth three songs in the top 25. He's good, but I've never understood most of the hype over that guy. Yeah, B.O.B. is really, really good. Glad to see Idioteque cracked the top ten, since that would probably be my number one (either that or Wolf at the Door just because). I plan to make a list of my own personal top 100 favorite songs, since I always get all "WUT THIS LIST IS GHEY" when I read music lists and then remember that it's all opinion. So in order to make a list I fully agree with, I have to write it. :P |
