Pitchfork's top 200 albums of the 2000's is weird...

Really? Ghostface's Pretty Tony Album really wasn't that great. Elliott Smith's highly uneven Figure 8 makes the list, but the far better From a Basement on the Hill and New Moon are both missing. Not enough love for Deerhoof. Enough love for Animal Collective, but where's Strawberry Jam? Panfan will kill me for saying this, but Veckatimest was ranked a bit higher than it deserved to be. And as much as I love Kid A, its position at #1 was all too predictable and a bit disappointing. Also, I'm pretty sure that Andrew WK's I Get Wet was given an 0.6 rating when it was first released... change of heart much?

Veckatimest is good, but not as good as they're hyping it to be. Kid A is one of my favorite albums of this decade, but I wouldn't necessarily rank it higher than some of the rest of them... Mm, I dunno. Either way, Pitchfork's lists typically bug me and I just look at the reviews from time to time to find new bands. I wasn't expecting much from this one after the 500 songs disappointed me so much.

I don't mind you saying that about Veckatimest because I'm still getting over the shock of Strawberry Jam not being on the list.
