For those of you who don't know, I've been playing the bass guitar for a good four years or so. And was even 'featured' on a track on my cousin's band's album (Papercut Charlie... or Papercut Chuck, or whatever they decided to call it before it exploded into a big pile of procastination and douchebaggery). Either way, that was two years ago, and this is now. Now I'm practicing with a group of my friends (who's musical tastes I don't exactly share, but love of making music I do) on a semi-regular basis, and I believe we really have something going. If not a band, then at least some truly awesome jam sessions. But enough about me, are any of you other musically inclined persons out there currently part of anything? A band maybe, or a group of friends you just jam with whenever you get the itch? P.S: I've also joined the show choir program here at my school, and have been practicing flexing the ol' voice box. I'm most comfortable in the Bass/Baritone range but can get up slightly higher if need be. Apparently I was a vocalist and didn't know it, as I was promoted to the Madrigals, 'varsity' choir, on my first day singing. __________________ |

Im also thinking of try to get togheter with a band i know, they are kind of in a hiatus now so its a little hard. |

I wanna get a banjo, too, & learn to play bass on it. I'd like to start a goofball rock band someday. For now I just occasionally jam with friends & record some rudimentary demos by myself. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I actually plan to pick up a guitar this Christmas just to see if it's my cup of tea (and from what I've played around with so far, it seems like I'm going to have fun with it). As for bands, I've got some minor stuff on the table. I collaborate with several friends, and I'm typically the go-to drummer among my peoples. Me and a friend of mine wrote some pretty good songs that we were proud of, but we don't yet have a name and we need to find more band members before it can become serious. Another of my friends and my occasional boss also typically likes to put small one-off bands together for minor gigs here and there and I'm often the drummer for them before his plans fall apart; maybe some day we'll get something together that actually comes to fruition. |

There are a ton of more influences but those are the main ones. |

Gender: Posts: 29,118 Thanks: 2,535 Thanked 1,822 Times in 1,007 Posts | I'm a Tenor in my school's Concert Choir, which is the traveling choir that sings at churches around Michigan on Sundays. This is us at the school's Christmas Concert: A subset of that choir is Hardin Street Harmony, which is our Swing Choir/Show group thing, which I'm also in. I'm also in the band (1st trumpet, I sit near Panfan) and I'm currently in the Musical (Good News! I'm Bobby), and was also in the musical Freshman Year (chorus role in Guys & Dolls). Um...my roommate plays guitar sometimes and I'll sing along with whatever he's playing, and we've talked about performing some things (like school dances) but haven't gotten around to it yet. Uh...two years ago I was invited to be in my church body's High School Honor Choir and we sang at the National Worship Conference in Minnesota. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life, but that was just a one-time thing. | ||

He's also offered me the drum seat for his performances. This is a great thing. |
