I think Nas' Illmatic is overrated, It Was Written is his best piece of work by far. Marvin Gaye = Greatest Singer Ever. I prefer A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Cypress Hill and De La Soul over Wu-Tang as a group. I don't care for UGK but Bun B is crazy. Scarface is the greatest rapper from the south IMO. |

I feel like I got in a great debate around these parts a while back when I expressed my dislike for Untitled. That being said, Nas is one of my favorite rappers based purely on the strength of Illmatic (which I do sincerely believe is Nas' best album and deserves its status as the greatest rap album of all time) and It Was Written. IMO, everything he's released since then has been frustratingly uneven, with the exception of the brilliant The Lost Tapes. He's had a handful of strong songs on every album, and the only albums of his I would consider to be overall "bad" would be Nastradamus and Untitled, though if you split Street's Disciple in half the second disc is pretty much sucktastic. Most of his albums are weighed down by a lot of filler. Seriously, "Be a ****** Too" was such a great track and it couldn't make the final cut of the album thanks to those damn copyright laws and sample clearance crap. Nas' upcoming collaboration with Damian Marley looks promising, though. I think rap albums in general are just way too long. I actually like Pimp C more than Bun B. I know, this is a terrible thing to say. Also, Mobb Deep's Hell on Earth > The Infamous. And finally, Andre 3000 is the greatest hip hop artist of all time. I'm kind of over Radiohead. I still like them, but we're just friends now. That's all for my music confessions for now. Last edited by Bomby; 01-15-2010 at 11:00 AM. |

A BABY SCREAMING on an album instead of an actual song!" "Yeah man, let's do it!"). Also so much of what seems to be vulgarity for vulgarity's sake (Why is there a dude blowing himself on the cd art? uhhhh). However, I enjoy and respect them most of the rest of the time. |

He's prolly top 10 in my book, but I think the greatest of all time has to be Kool G Rap, Rakim, Scarface or Ice Cube, hell maybe even Black Thought. I used to be a huge Mos Def fan but I don't think he's anything special now, only stuff I like from him is Black On Both Sides and Blackstar w/ Talib. Wierd Al is not funny at all. I am a huge U2, Foo Fighters and Dream Theater fan. Nas' Ether and 2pac's Hit Em Up are 2 very overrated diss tracks. 2pac is just angerly threatning Big and talking about how G him and his crew are. Nas' song is just calling Jay a homosexual and making gay jokes, Common's B1tch In Yoo and Canibus' 2nd Round KO are much better disses overall. |

The Hold Steady is one of the best classic rock bands ever. They formed in 2004. Sometimes At the Drive-In's lyrics make me hate myself for loving them as much as I do. Noise rock is the most hit-or-miss genre ever. Example of hit: HILLYH by The Mae Shi. Example of miss: Terrorbird by The Mae Shi MF DOOM is one of my favorite rappers ever and people need to listen to him more. I may mostly listen to indie rock now, but my musical roots are in metal and even in some hip hop. |

I don't care for N.W.A. Little Brother one of the best hip-hop groups ever, they released their first album in 2003. Masta Ace is a very underrated MC. |

I don't think I can get over Radiohead. We're more than friends. And we love to cuddle and talk about our feelings. I actually really like Muse's new album, because it's pure dumb fun. Shoot me later. Tool is pretty much utter bull****. If not for Danny Carey and the incredibly cool guitar riffs, they would be nigh unlistenable. But I still like them. Wut. I totally agree about At The Drive-In, but The Mars Volta's lyrics are so much worse. Like, so much worse. And yet Teflon was one of the coolest songs of 2009. I actually like Coheed and Cambria's catchy pop songs just as much as, if not more than, their big metal epics. Jonathan Coulton is the **** and should be WAAAAAAY MORE POPULAR. I like Boards of Canada's Geogaddi more than I like Music Has The Right to Children. |

The beats are pretty good mostly because it's pretty much freestyles over other beats. "The National Anthem" is probably one of my favorite rap tracks in recent memory. |

Jarvis gets bonus points for being the best lyricist in pop music ever. No one can match the brilliance of his sardonic wit. Last edited by Bomby; 01-16-2010 at 10:19 AM. |

"Don't Panic," "Yellow," "Clocks," "The Scientist," "Viva la Vida"? Yes, please. Most of the non-singles? No, thanks. |
