I'm not much of a metal person, but I was definitely able to appreciate Sabaton. The lyrics about war were kind of neat. Is it wrong that my favorite song of the ones I listened to was called "The Final Solution?" Carsick Cars was a bit more my style, and I'm always happy to hear a sinophone rock band that actually... rocks. I like "Zhong Nai Hai" quite a bit, as did I "Guang Chang." Keep the recommendations coming. Meanwhile, check out this awesome Korean folk singer and his awesome dance moves: YouTube -장기하와 얼굴들 - 달이 차오른다 (Jang Kiha & the Faces - The Moon is Waxing, Let's Go) Last edited by Bomby; 07-31-2010 at 11:07 AM. |

The Korean guy was nice, i always appreciate a good synchronised dance. Allso new recomendation: I have always appriciated the old Mississippi (did i spell that right?) blues and i found a guy that really goes back to the Roots, Seasick Steve ![]() |

In it, he breaks up with God. It's pretty heavy stuff, and I love it. ![]() |

While dancing. It is kind of badass. ![]() I think Duel is one of my favorite pieces ever. |

Experimental rock, with indie, folk, post-rock and classical influences. Almost no guitars. main instruments are Violin, cello, piano, organ and weird distorty saw stuff. And a great emphasis on percussion, including your average drumset, tuned percussion, weird and obscure instruments, and processed/treated percussion. nice female vocalist, too, despite the lyrics being in a language I don't understand. Title track is very ass-kickin', along with most everything else. GET. |

It's got collaborations with Justin Vernon (from Bon Iver), Ani DiFranco, Ben Knox Miller (of The Low Anthem), Greg Brown, and the Haden Triplets (who individually have worked with the likes of Silversun Pickups, The Rentals, Jimmy Eat World, Dntel, Beck, Weezer, The Decemberists, Queens of the Stone Age, amongst others) I get a very Tom Waits-y vibe from it, but without the raspy Tom Waits vocals. |
