ok im bored and want to ask..

Ive seen that some of us have some musical talent i was wondering that if anyone is up to do some cooperative work on some music, preferably a cover on something since i don't think it would be wise to do something own.

ANyone up for the challange?

Yeah, sure.
I'm great with percussion & Jew's harp, and competent on drums & vocals.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I can't sing or play any instruments, but I can make weird noises with my mouth.

Man, I'd love to get in on this, but getting my part recorded would be a serious hassle. If you guys need any extra drumming and I have time to get everything set up, I could maybe give it a shot. I wish you luck in the meantime.

Recording might be a bit of a bit of a problem on my part, but I may be able to get around it.

I've beatboxxed for years, if your into that, though I tend to be somewhat rusty nowadays.

I can make some pretty kinda okay beats (via beating/snapping/clapping/tapping/whatever mostly beating and tapping tho) with pretty much any household object and on almost any service.

Also, I'm okay at keyboard/piano, I just can't, ya know, read music...Yet...

I also own a cheap electric drumpad thing as well as a couple of guitars(which I also can't really read music for...), whatever that's worth.

I've also been practicing with madtracker (a music program usually used for acid/techno, but used for whatever you like pretty much).

If any of these have any real value/might help you out, just hit me up and I'll see what I can do. ^-^ (Though I can't really guarantee anything completely...

P.S. Oh yeah, I have trombones, whhich I used to play; and my sister has a clarinet. (again, whatever those are worth...)

P.S.#2 and I do some voices...Yeah......

P.S. #3 I have lots of free time due to the school that I go to...

I'd like to see A.I. in this topic too, his stuff is pretty tight.

EDIT: What genre of music are we talking 'bout BTW? Covering songs with a single genre in mind, or separate genres for each song? Maybe just whatever people come up with? Perhaps just wingin' it?

All my musical ability is in things like trackers, and not any real-time instruments.

But if you don't mind synthesized instruments, I could help.

I'm willing to do programming if that's what you're going for. That means synths, drums, strings, convincing pseudo bass and guitar, choral voices. Or possibly vocals, if I like the style.

If you want to try using a drum machine program I've got, I could master it for you.

What kind of song do you have in mind, Jere? I can set down some rhythm guidelines, if you want to pick one.

Here's an example of a track I did going back to around 2004/2005 as an example:
http://revolver.arcticpalace.org/mus...derground).mp3

It's a remix of the cavern theme from Zelda 3 (LttP)

Here's an original, more recent one with a vocal track:

http://revolver.arcticpalace.org/mus...ces(Final).mp3

And the most recent one I did with vox (yeah, this one's intended as comedy):

I'm apt at programming. Also very, very apt on flute. and I blow a mean didgeridoo. And I've got all the recording equipment necessary.

But yeah, I have free time. What kinda stuff would we be doing?

I really want to do this as analog as possible, i really prefer real people before drum machines and stuff, but im not completley against it if it get's to hard to have an actual drummer for example.

People Playing a Synthesiser i don't think is to bad though.

And im thinking that we just could go crazy with something nothing to hard though, if you get a good thought put in the thread.

Im going to work tomorow and i don't know how much connection will be awailable (it's out in the Wildernes afterall) so i can't really discuss this on worst case scenario on sunday.

I'm a decent bass player.

And I've been told I'm a decent singer so I can do some back-up vocals and harmonizing if necessary.

Sounds good to me; I'll go jaw harp & maybe throw in some backing vox. What's the plan; is somebody going to start with a melody & send it to the others, or what?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I thought it was easy to start with, 3 chords and the truth, i was to propose that we would try to do a cover on Rocking all over the world or something.

And about recording, most basic i think is to have a mic place it somewhere there isn't to much noice play the stuff you want played and Go, just listen it through so it sounds good.

How you want to get it in the computer i don't have figured out yet.

What I mean is, how do we know the runtime, meter, tempo, et cet that we're working with unless somebody goes first?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Synth doesn't mean it's eurodance, dude, you can do a world of things with that kind of tech. Most "analogue" music is about as far from analogue as you can get, considering the kind of software employed to mix, these days. But I was just suggesting writing the structure out on a sample kit to be re-recorded by someone with access to a kit and equipment, or even laying down some barebones signatures for us to sync up to since there's no way for this to be done simultaneously.

Your call, though. I'm still cool for vox and anything raw sounding, I have a way with electronic instruments that doesn't have a place in the mainstream industry. If you guys need someone to do the mix for you, I can easily do a master of some recorded tracks. If I like what I'm hearing, I might mix my own synths into a version of the final anyway. You gotta gamble to win the game, right?
