I really dig their big single "Mmm Mmm Mmm" - I'd do a cover if I thought anyone else could help out. I can do the vocals no prob, which is a bit lower than I'm probably known for(I prefer up an octave for a lot of my stuff). The singer's enunciation is really suitable, IMO. |

Nifty song. How do you plan on getting around the geographical issue? EDIT: Also, the Crash Dummies are hard not to love. See below. If I wanted to cover it, the way I'd do it would depend on who plays what instrument. Easiest way to do separate tracks with live instruments is usually to just jam along to the original to get some rough stuff done, if it's your intent to do live instruments. I mostly do electronic stuff, though, so I'd probably elect to write an open interpretation instead of doing it identically to the original. I know a lot of people don't like covers that differ from the original, but there's practically no reason to go out of your way to re-perform a song you love if the original recording is available, IMO. So you differentiate and make the song suit your style. |
