The overall feeling I got was 'meh' rather than outrage, though I've never really been a big Metallica fan.

'I am the table' is an amazing line however.

^ I actually thought that Metallica could do better, even after St. Anger's God-awfulness they managed to release something really enjoyable with Death Magnetic.

But I don't think most outrage is due to 'Tallica's involvement, but Reed's. He was a pioneer in genres like art rock, punk rock, and early alternative rock, and The Velvet Underground & Nico is widely considered to be one of the best albums ever. Though this wouldn't be the first time he's gone out and recorded a pile of absolute trash.

But hey, this is the guy who wrote "Perfect Day" and "Sunday Morning," so yeah.

I think I can understand why Lars Ulrich hates his fans. If I had fans who loved Metallica that much, I'd hate them too.
