It was a discussion on Mortal Kombat, then he brought up a game that made Mortal Kombat fatalities look cheaper than they are right now. So I decided to play it. Anyways, first off, it's a Fighting Sega CD game. The story is, at the end of the world, one remaining person (The Champion), relizes that 9 times, the death of someone that could each help the earth live a bit longer, the deaths were preventable. So the Champion uses his powers to bring the 9 to a tournament, the winner getting their life back a few seconds before death, to prevent the death, and to help the world. However, there were 13, there, as the Dark Champion brought 4 to be able to get their life back (I haven't found out if they're there to make life more miserable. Doesn't sound like it, one's from the Vietnam War) Anyways, the gameplay is normal, non bloody hits. HOWEVER, there are different fatalities you can inflict to the opponent to insure they don't come back. And THOSE are REALLY bloody and disgusting. They can be eaten by a lion, have their brain eaten by a fish, and even a clown car lands on them, causing probably the BLOODIEST mess ever. And the blood is more detailed than MK, so... I've said too much. So what's your opinions on this? |

I saw an advertisement for the game, in which it mockingly compared characters from Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 to characters from this game. Who really got the last laugh there? |

Instead, you have characters from all these different time periods: From a caveman (Fighting so he can become leader of his tribe to start agriculure), to an ex-cat Burgler (To stop the gang he worked with in order to save many lives), then to the future, including a half-cyborg kickboxer, plus more. Really different characters. |

Powerful, indeed! I think the closest there is to a MK character would probably be Shadow, the female ninja, and she's not even that similar. And there's one stage-finisher where you can get your opponent torn apart by wild monkeys. |

By the way, Vote Fred, or whatever your name is, the game you're playing is actually a sequel to the original Eternal Champions, so you might wanna try that. Oh, and I remember, that the fatalities were called Overkills. Which, from what I've heard, seems very fitting... |

Overkills is one of the deaths infliced, by landing a finishing blow and hit your opponent at the trigger, and it happens. Another is Sudden Death, which doesn't even need you to get all of the opponent's health away. Then, each player has a Finishing Move, and then there's a CineKill, which is where the Dark Champion kills the opponent in a 3-D cinema way. Haven't seen it, but I want to. |

DO NOT PLAY THE GENESIS ETERNAL CHAMPIONS! The Sega CD one we are talking about is a superior product. I'd dare say the game is more bloody and gory than Mortal Kombat ever was. Larcen owns! |
