Anyway for the last month I've been working on a NC movie "Back to school" using Windows Movie maker and I'm nearly finished. Since Glyph Phoenix is allowed to make a NC movie, I thhink I can get away with making them. It currently doen't have voices, but since it also uses text, they're an optional (But wanted) extra. What do you think about this Idea/Movie? [ May 09, 2005, 10:21 AM: Message edited by: Gerkinman ] |

A single movie consisting of a few frames takes up quite a large amount of space. You better be doing something new with this movie, Gerkinman. The idea behind this is making a movie adaptation of an NC comic, not making a several megabyte large movie of an NC comic. My first Mario Busters movie is going to consist of entirely new content, and if I can't think of anything new to do with the next part, I'll probably just not do the rest at all. |

It's not NC without Jay doing Something! 1MB is the size so far (approx with over 100 frames). Anyway, I'm not doing it word-for-word ; I've added stuff too. (Jokes, Extra lines ect.) Anyway, what woud you suggest I add to it? Or what should I make the Movie in if not WINMM? (Windows Movie Maker) |

No, taking a comic directly from NC and not making it better, just stuffing it into an animation is destroying the point. Jay clearly has something to do with this since it's involving his characters and since it's based on his original work. With Macromedia flash my movie already has over two-thousand frames. But they do run at thirty-two frames per second. My movie is rather large, but most of it is an mp3. The original mp3 file is 2.2 MB, and even with all my movie stuff added to it the final movie file is only 2.5 MB. Yeah, that's big, but it's mostly the music. As long as you know how to use Windows Movie Maker, I guess it's fine. I never managed to use it correctly, I guess. Anyway, you really need to make the movie different from the comic in some way to make it good. The Mario Busters movie I'm working on is... different. It takes place before the comic begins and focuses on Mario's reign of terror...ish. None of the scenes that are in the actual comic so far are in my movie. If you're just taking what Jay already made and animating it, it's not going to be any good. |

(no offence) For instance when executrain says "That, and I'm trying to complete my ultimate goal... COMPLETE WORLD DOMINATION" he then goes straight into "Um...I mean...anyway, back to our math homework" You don't see the classes reaction or anything like that. And since everone reads text differently they might read executains reaction incorrrectly. Anyway, I've put sound into it, added at least 12 lines with jokes and make a more convincing animated deathray and Jetpack. I think thats enough of an adaption, especially if I get voices to put in it. Please correct me Glyph, if you think I've not done enough, and Ill do it again, but more adapted. |

But then I became genuinely interested in seeing how badly this movie is going to turn out, so I guess I'll give it a download anyway when you're done. And NC never needed a 'more convincing deathray'. Jay's poor graphics were all the comic needed to be funny. And sometimes it's a necessary part of being funny, as shown in "That Jay Resop's always making me look stupid". That was awesome. |

I'm adding 3 more scenes to the story. Also my Deathray looks exactly like jays did in the comic, only animated with an explosion graphic taken from a worms game. (Sorry for being so stubborn, I think it'll be much better thanks to your advice. Thanks)To everyone: I'm now looking to audition voices for the NEW INPROVED movie. I need the voice of: Narrator guy Fred Bill Mario Luigi Kirby Executrain Donez Redox* (People with stars by their name weren't in the original comic.) If yould like to take part in this, please audition. [ May 08, 2005, 08:59 AM: Message edited by: Gerkinman ] |

What I meant was that the graphics aren't the most important, not that new graphics can't help. It all depends on how you use them. And as for the voices, I'd help, but my microphone isn't working. Argh. |

Gender: Posts: 110 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Anyway, I've added to the story a flashback and more to the other scenes. I'm gonna do the voices a certain way. Firstly I'm gonna type up the story on Wordpad. Then when some-ones auditioned for the voice, I'll give them the lines and they'll record them. I also thought I'd show you what the Deathray looks like. (It'll change every movie (If I make more)) Deathray #1.wmv [ May 08, 2005, 09:07 AM: Message edited by: Gerkinman ] |

Back in 2002, I was actually having ideas of making a Bill and Fred Flash movie. Hmm, maybe I should actually do that. [ May 08, 2005, 02:17 PM: Message edited by: SuperYoshi's back...Or is he? ] |

Anyway I would like people to audition for the parts please. I really need them! (Also, just for the record I am NOT the gerkinman on Newgrounds. I am a different one.) |

Posts: 1,575 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | I'm sorry, but that Deathray looks ****ty, the speed of it and the deathray graphic itself. You should take the time of illegally getting flash then make it better with photoshop or paint shop pro. WinMM is something that should be reserved for ACTUAL live footage recordings, not this attempt at making something better and ending up miserably failing. It's both insipid to redo something of someones and disgraceful for turning it into crap with cheap animation and sound. Oh, and you're never going to get voice auditions from here. I mean, I remember the days when Jay himself wanted some voice actors, and it took FOREVER and the forum was alot more active than it is now. I suggest you do them yourself or find friends. Good luck, hope you prove me wrong somehow. |

But really, depending on how well you do, a remake of something old can be good. But you really need a lot of new content to make it worth watching. I don't know how I'm going to do Mario Busters Part 1... the Prologue was completely new, but once I get into the actual thing I'm going to have to figure out a different way to make things interesting. |

The main problem is that it moves WAY too slow. Between the time Fred starts firing and when the beam actually hits, Kirby probably could have gotten up, solved that Calculus problem on the board, taken a trip to the bathroom, gotten a drink of water on the way back, and then sat back down. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? I don't care if it was like that in Jay's comic. It's really painful to look at in motion. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there! |

Here is a link of what I made to show what it basically should look like had it been made in Flash. http://www.geocities.com/superluigi8...uperyoshi.html (Sorry about the lack of effort, like the chairs, etc. I'm only just trying to make a point.) By the way, I have to thank Tonberry2k for ripping the Bugzzy (or as we all know, Fred) sprite from Kirby Super Star! [ May 11, 2005, 03:49 PM: Message edited by: SuperYoshi's back...Or is he? ] |
