You know, it's really hard to judge a guy who hasn't really had a chance to show what he can do. The League of Not So Ordinary Gentlemen? I will be the first to tell you that it's a mess. It never got off the right foot and it's just limping along. I really don't want to continue the series, but I feel I have to try and finish it. My Deathmatches? What don't you like about them? The gore? I did the gore in the Fred Vs Jason deathmatch to parody the excessive gore that's in the movie Freddy Vs Jason -- and it sort of stuck. Sure, my second deathmatch kind of sucked, but it's a miracle that I got it done at all. I'm not funny? You know, I'll let you in on a little secret -- I am not trying to be funny. I just try to put together a good story and if it makes people laugh that's good too. I ripoff NC? You know, I consider the Mysteries Comix a spin-off of NC that take's place in the same universe. Sure, Bill and Fred have shown up a few times, but my main characters are Dr. Crackle and Boogore and they always will be. Also, did you ever hear that imitation in the sincerest form of flattery. In fact, Jay is planning on doing his own NC version of Super Mario Mysteries, and you know what, I am giving him MY FULL BLESSING to do it (Jay contact me about my e-mail system) You know, I could try to explain myself as much as I want, but in the end you will find another reason to put me down, like you have been doing for months on, no less than, 4 forums (basically every SMBhq-run forum, except SSB). The truth is, no matter what you say, I will not let you bug me any further. Because while you are a 15 year old brat, that has no worries in the world, I am a 23 year old, who has bigger things to worry about than what you have to say about a bunch of images. Goodbye! |

I think your praise of NCEC or whatever was enough to put you up for mocking. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Extreme imitation is saying "My skill is in the negative regions." The ripoffs, though, I don't mind so much in this case. Now, I have to respect you. Why? Because you pull everything you can to BS your way out of situations. After being owned a few times conversationally, you say stuff like "Well, it's my section, I can do whatever I want". Then you pull age on him. Oh, bravo, really nice there. Pulling age is obviously the best way to win any argument. Obviously the age-old traditions of women having constrained roles in society should put the young whipper-snappers with that new "Equal rights" mumbo jumbo in their PLACE. Honestly. You go on to ***** about more or less, you wasting your time about things you don't need to worry about. If you have more important things, why the hell are you hanging around a hole like this place? Go on, actually do something that can be professional. I don't know what your career or planned future is, but I can sure as hell doubt that "Ran crappy MS Paint webcomic section and forum" will look very good on a resume. If you have greater things to worry about, then get outta here! This obviously isn't the place for you, and I doubt you'd be missed much. I am no Brutus, I don't think for this forum or for the better of this forum, but I don't think anybody's gonna miss your "Holier than thou" attitude, your praising of crap and your berating of things actually somewhat good. (Hopefully) Goodbye! |

Do you really have to go as far as these arguements that really make no sense? Sean, you really need to lighten up. Some things should just be left unnoticed. If there's some dumbass remark, ignore it and the poster will regret ever saying anything. Glyph, you need to relize you DON'T CONTROL EVERYTHING. So what Mysteries uses a bunch of NC ideas? Considering Jay ALLOWS it, don't be a douche about it. LvK, you're just putting lighter fluid on the wood to start a flame war. Besides, the last thing the forums need is a flame war. |

I graduated from taking Computer Programming at Humber College in 2003. However, I was having no luck in finding an entry level job. Most of my work for SMBhq for the last 2 years has helped take my mind off the depression I was falling into when days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and so on. I am about to head into University to try and get a degree and have a better chance of finding employment and getting on with my life. I have always enjoyed helping with SMBhq for the last 7 years. Kyle and Jay have told me many times how much they appreciate the work I have done for SMBhq. It was for that reason they made me co-webmaster. No matter what I do with my real life, I am still going to help out with SMBhq for as long as it exists. And, if you can't get it through your skull that I am still with SMBhq because I WANT to be, then I will be glad to resign my moderater position of the Mario Maniacs forum and leave these VGF forums for all time. L007, I'm still confused in my opinion about you. I do agree though, as much as this is, some idiot is going to hugely overblow this. |

| Newbie Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 8 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Okay, first things first now: If the guy(Gimpy) wanted to have a mature, level-headed conversation with the "15 year old brat", then he would have PM'ed or e-mailed the guy, which he obviously did not do. If he wanted to start a two-year old level popularity/flame war by posting this crap in front of everybody in order to discredit the guy and make himself look good, he did. DELETE this post. Worst post by a mod in a semi-major forum I've ever seen. |

This reminds me of the one supersain50 or whatever his name was made in the comics forum. You obviously do care about my opinion, else you would not have gone so far as to make a large topic telling me, specifically, how much you don't care. If you don't care about what I have to say about your images... good for you. Then just don't read my posts. If you see that big ol' post reading, "Glyph Phoenix" at the topic, just avert your eyes from the following heathenous remarks. And since your plot is even worse than your humor you really don't have any room to move on whether or not you're trying to be funny. Yes, I think your comics are that bad. No, you don't have to agree... although I'm not alone on this one. And when I talked to Jay myself it sounded like his "mysteries" were going to be mocking yours, man. He was going to rip off mysteries like you ripped off NC, and that was going to be a joke. But you should know Jay even better than I do; he'll probably never actually get around to this project. Like I said, this was all good for a laugh. Edit: Oh, and about that control comment... I'm just giving input. [ August 06, 2005, 11:23 PM: Message edited by: Glyph Phoenix ] |

But, you know what was it really going to accomplish? You have all decided to hate me. As for Jay doing the NC Mysteries as a joke. Do you think I am dumb enough NOT to figure that out? Of course it was a joke! Jay is nothing but a joker! Did you read the mailbag lately? He hasn't wrote a serious answer, in the whole time he was helping to answer. Also, I never wanted Jay to know this, but it has always bugged me (especially in the recent months, with me trying to get the era pages ready), that, after I was made co-webmaster (nearly one year ago), Jay went running back to NC and was hardly seen on the main site again (I counted, he only made 4 updates in the last year). And, if Jay truly has an issue with me "ripping off" NC, he should have told me straight to my face, instead of talk to you guys behind my back (especially since I now feel he was putting a knife into it, while doing so) You guys can have your fun with NC, but you know what, if you don't want me involved, I won't. Forget the fact that would mean Lord of the Wings would never be finished (though you probably didn't like it anyway) However, I will still do my part to make sure that Super Mario Bros Headquarters, as a whole, lasts for a long, long time. LvK mentioned my resume? No, those sprite comix are not on it, but SMBhq, which allows me to flex my ever-growing HTML skills, is. This is Sean Patrick Kelly signing off from NC |

The behind-the-back thing bothered me a bit, too, but Jay just couldn't bring himself to say it to your face. I think it's a pity thing. And going behind Jay's back and telling you what he said is bad too. Yeah, Jay makes jokes, but they're funny jokes and it's better you make a funny joke out of life than a mediocre sappy soap opera out of it. Also, your HTML skills don't seem that impressive. I haven't seen you do anything I can't, and as you reminded everybody, I am only 15. |

Hmm. Or maybe it's more like a reality TV show. |

I would prefer to stay, but you guys are making it perfectly clear that I am not welcome. EDIT: How did this all start again? Mysteries being too much like NC? Would if just make you happy if I closed the Mystery Comix altogether? [ August 07, 2005, 09:09 AM: Message edited by: Gimpy ] |

Critizing is acceptable only in the work place, but overdoing it just unhumanly cruel! Glyph, you know what? If you don't like his work, if you hate it to death, you can just INGORE IT. Nobody is forcing you to read it. Nobody cares that you hate it. Put yourself in Sean's shoes. Would you like the stress? Would it send you into depression? Chances are, yes, but since you are just 15 years old the only thing you can worry about is Mommy and Daddy banning you from playing video games for a month. Sean, he's just a kid. You made your point. You don't have to take it. Ingore hits from him. Turn the other cheek and just let him rant and ramble like a mad man, then he will shut his pie hole. Plus the only person who has the say to shut down Mysteries is only between you and Jay, and nobody else. So, Just calm down. |

I have seen these topics in SSS. Where, replace me with Sean and replace Glyph with all of SSS. But unlike SSS, I will not let this fall into some nonsensical mama drama which tears all that is good apart. I will not stand for it! First thing: Sean, you do have a tendency to rip off everything Jay does. That's the non-opinionated way to say it. Second, your comix viewer does not work in Firefox. Third, I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time with your computer stuff, I'm going to try to get a PhD in Electrical Engineering after all. Anyway... that is the extent of the things Sean has to worry about. I've criticised him in the past, but people, this is WRONG. Leave him alone. He's heard what you said, and had enough. If you want to bash him without reason, you will be effectively bashing me too. In SSS, it got out of control and caused serious damage. I do not want that to happen here. And now, for the part mentioning the rest of you. You all have valid comments, but Sean has heard what you have said. Sean does many things for you for free, like mod the forums, do SMBHQ stuff, and Mysteries, and other things. When he was promoting NCEC, it was for SMBHQ, not because he actually liked it. If you do more than just let him know what you think is right or wrong then you risk eliminating these free services and losing what you thought you could improve. Some criticism is good, but this is destructive criticism, and it must stop. This is my two cents. I have seen this destroy my own place in another community; I refuse to let it happen to Sean. He has a few rough edges, but you're acting like he's Hitler or something. Lighten up. |
