Boy, between this and N-Fans, it would seem SomethingAwful really dislikes NES-based comics, especially the older ones. Just thought I should let you guys know that you might be in for it over the next couple days, so I hope your server can take it. Might have a few other SA people end up in here; my suggestion is just to try to ride it out. Get too steamed in your responses to them, and you might find yourselves targeted by a Weekend Web in the near future, too. I saw 'em do it to someone last year.

Oh, and I guess I'll do a little pimpage for my own comic, Nuclear Powered Toaster, while I'm here. Never a bad time to be a whore.

*Shrug* At least in my case, I've been through worse stuff. I'm not going to fear a bunch of random people doing a hypothetical attack on us. Any SA people who come in to attack will probably be banned rather than flamed.

Rather than pander to the fear-mongering internet terrorism likes to create, I'd suggest this topic is deleted.

Hey, no worries, I'm not here to stir up trouble, just felt you guys ought to be aware. Mostly for the server issue; the last couple of sites they did this to went down. Granted they seemed to be smaller than this place, but it's still something to look out for.

*Nods* The staff know by now. As for NC, I find it relatively pointless to attack a dead sprite comic site. I mean, most of the fans of it have seen most of it, and with the lack of new content, there's nothing really to prevent from reaching us by way of such an attack.

As for VGF itself, I don't know what sort of capabilities it has, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had something worth a piece of change. Only Shane could say what, though.

Of course, a lot of what goes on in the Internet is relatively pointless. Just because there's no good reason to do something won't stop people from doing it anyhow.

Yeah, I figured with a forum this size, this site has a good chance of holding up. Especially since it's somewhat reminiscent of N-Fans, which seemed to weather the storm rather well.

Jay, this summer, look for some voice clips from me. I plan on providing several voice reels for several old comix. I won't make them if you're not interested, though.

Two new comix? I thought you only had Reid's NC/SSS part 12. -CSM

(edit: Yeah, I know that there are lots of people out there who hate sprite comix. Maybe they should learn that most of us can write but we can't draw?)

Have you heard of the website Something Awful? If so, then ALOD is referring to their Awful Link of the Day feature. And if you haven't heard of them, it basically means they pick one website every day and just rip on it. And since they are a pretty popular site, the link they create does bring in quite a lot of visitors, to the point that a good 40-50% of the sites they link to crash shortly thereafter due to overloaded servers.

But, 'meh. If it's only a link, then it probably won't be too bad. I was picturing DDOS attacks or something. The more you know about these things, the worse of a hypothetical situation you can make up. @_@

Speak for yourself. Most [good] spriters I've seen CAN draw pretty well (Although I'm speaking of Flash movies, I don't read many sprite comics these days).

Also, if I were in Jay's shoes, I really wouldn't pay much mind to it, hell I'd be honored. NC is not meant to be taken as a well-made comic, and that is probably why I love it so much. SA is also not meant to be taken 100% seriously, they exaggerate a lot, and the only thing I never liked about them was how they force you to pay $10 just to join the forum, which is a bit hypocritical if you've done some reasearch on the site. Wow, I'm rambling again.
