CK's Top Five Cartoons That NEED To Be Put on DVD

5. Real Ghostbusters (I'm aware there are individual DVDs containing about four episodes each. I mean box sets of entire seasons/the entire series)

4. Samurai Pizza Cats

3. Earthworm Jim

2. SWAT Kats

1. Freakazoid

Honorable Mention: King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, because even though it was supposed to be kind of lame ever since FO made that shrine to the game it's intrigued me.

Discuss.

Amen to that!

I'm also still waiting on M.A.S.K. DVDs. Australia has them! Where's ours.

Europe (or maybe just England) has a DVD of Knights of Justice, except I it's like those RGB DVDs in that it only contains a few "select" episodes.

There may be hope for RGB box sets because they're making a third Ghostbusters movie (which as Flying Omelette said the only optimistic thing about that IS the hope for RGB DVDs).

In related news, Disney's taking their sweet time putting Gargoyles Season 2 Vol. 2 out. I got Vol. 1 for Christmas last year, and Amazon still doesn't even have preorders for Vol. 2.

I remember Samurai Pizza Cats, as a kid, being quite a treat to watch. Looking at it now (I d/led some torrents), I'm starting to appreciate it.

Unfortunately the rumors about GB3 have so far remained just that... rumors.

In an interview earlier this year Aykroyd said that he was moving away from acting and that "It's not gonna happen" (in regards to GB3).

protoncharging.com - hardcore ghostbusters online

It seems that Murray hasn't been interested in a GB3 since the early 90's. Ramis has expressed an interest many times in the past, but has in more recent years stated that the cast has gotten too old. While Reitman, I believe, has made contradictory statements about the possibility of the film being made.

The only one of the group that seems eager to strap on his Proton Pack these days is Ernie Hudson.

Uh, yeah, because I don't have something on a Top 5 because I think there's five other items more worthy that means I hate it.

Because few American ears have any training with Swedish (partly because you Swedes are so good with English [I mean, seriously, if my first encounter with Dolph Lundgren had been the Tale of Two Titans featurette on Universal Soldier I never would have guessed his native language wasn't English] that it renders Swedish argueably the most worthless second language a native speaker of English could spend their time on, and so nobody offers classes in it and I ranted about in this topic most Teach Yourself type books on Swedish are horrible), and never in a million years would have guessed what any of that was saying (it's easier to "read" Swedish than "hear" it because of prononciation).

I mean, I-D-E-A (A J-Pop song from the ending credits of Mega Man X6) was a bunch of gibberish to me, but when I took some lessons in Japanese I was able to "understand" what they were saying and even translate a little of it (like "kimi ni" which I know can be used to mean "to you" but I don't know if that's the actual context of the song. "Ni" is actually an indirect topic marker, not an actual word, and "Jouji wa teepu o Boubu ni agemash*ta", it means "George gave a tape to Bob". "Sukoshi" can either mean "a little" or "consequently").

Damn censor.

I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. If so, he never said anything about you hating it.

Well either he's implying that any cartoon I left off I think is lame (since, appearantly, I have to have it on that list if I liked it), or he wants me to put six things on a Top 5 list.

On a side note, I don't think Nick has even put any box sets out (i.e. Rugrats, which you'd think they'd put out in the first wave), but Amazon isn't working right now so I can't check.

EDIT: Er, okay, I don't know what was going on with Amazon, but it's back up now. The only thing "Rugrats" brings up is movies. "Doug" brings up some select episode DVDs.

I honestly don't get why people prefer the Finnish Ducktales to the Swedish one. "No Juice for Boromir" just happens to be the greatest lyric of our time (as is "I like llamas, hug a little." -CSM

And knitting and dancing and baking a cake.

But because of a Flying Omelette injoke, I'm rather partial to Boromir being in the Swedish one.

And as an actual song instead of the "translation", I prefer the Swedish one.
