A few hours ago, Animal Planet aired a TV special. It was called "The 50 Greatest TV Animals". As you can guess, it's about what Animal Planet thinks are the 50 greatest animals to ever be on TV.

Why is it that anything on Animal Planet that's hosted by Mario Lopez is crap? First Pet Star where a talking bird is more spectacular than five dogs who do frisbee tricks in unision (okay, I was satisified with the outcome of the championship. But most of the episodes prior to this chose the dumbest acts to go on to it), now this.

What's wrong with this list? Somehow, half the list consisted of animals I'd never heard of before, some classics were left off, and some were totally out of order.

Lassie was #1. Don't tell me you didn't see that coming a mile away.

Somehow, the Munster's pet dragon, a bird from a show I've never heard of before, and the Grinch's dog made the list, while Garfield, Chip and Dale, and, get this, MICKEY MOUSE weren't even mentioned.

While I'm glad he wasn't on there, I'm a bit surprised Pikachu didn't make the cut.

Bugs Bunny was only 11. That was actually quite a suprise to me.

Itchy and Scratchy were in the bottom 10. I think they were 43 or something.

Did anyone else happen to see that?

Itchy and Scratchy were that low? That's terrible. They should have been number one, followed by Santa's Little Helper and Snowball II.

By the way, Bugs Bunny is very overrated.

Yeah, I saw that. Actually, I only caught the top fifteen. Either way, bad choices.

I'm assuming Wile E. Coyote didn't make it. Oh well.

I think Bugs Bunny is overrated too, but I was expecting him to be in the top 5.

Scooby-Doo and Snoopy were on the list. Maybe too low for your liking. I don't really care, since I don't like either of them that much.

Itchy and Scratchy is actually 42. So I was off by one. Sue me.

Why does Felix the cat remind me so much of Sonic the Hedgehog?

Any countdown show that isn't on a music/nostalgia-based channel is bound to be bad, especially if it's on Animal Planet.

By the way, Lassie sucks.

Max (the Grinch's dog) is awesome.

What about Sonic or Felix?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
