I'd say Donkey Kong is the second most popular video game character ever. Now, Donkey Kong isn't significantly more popular than Luigi, but he's older than Luigi, and he's had more than one title game. In fact, Mario's debut was the original Donkey Kong.

Don't say I like to use DONT DENY IT" for arguements. Sure, DK is older, but Luigi is significally more popular than him. I sort of agree with what you said, but out of Mario's 80 or so games and cameos, Luigi is in about 55-60 of them. In many of them(SMB and the others count)he has had some sort of big role, even though he's the second player.(Peach says "thank you,Mario", haha) And this is a Nintendo thing, not Microsoft.

The only fire thing there is the lava, the rotating fire rope and Bowser's shots.
That IS the Fire Sword!

They bought Rare, which contains Donkey Kong and Banjo Kazooie. Can't believe you didn't know...

And why do you think this is a neglected character?
First, it isn't a character at all. Otherwise I could say "The bridge where Bowser stands on in SMB is SO neglected, duh". That doesn't make any sense!
Second, it DID appear in newer Mario games, too. For example MLSS.
Or what do you want? Have a game with the Fire Sword as main character? Haha

We knew that, but when you randomly spouted "Microsoft" in a total non-sequitir, it sounded like you were saying the Donkey Kong vs. Luigi thing was a Microsoft thing.

I ask the guy that said "Fire Sword" in the first place.

Waluigi. He hasn't appeared in any games that actually have a story.

That's because he sucks. Some characters, like him, deserve to be neglected. While rotting in the lowest pits of hell.

Oh yes, that's right. Creating Waluigi was such a dumb thing Nintendo did...
"Hey, Mario has an evil brother... so why not Luigi?"
Well, Wario was funny, it was something new and the fact that you just had to reverse the "M" was a great idea.
But Waluigi was useless... even the name makes me aggressive... "Hm, Wario starts with 'Wa'. So how do we call Luigi's evil brother... Ah, Waluigi! Hey, I'm such a genius!"

Warui in japanese means evil. Wario and Warui? A bit simular if you ask me. And that means Wa-Mario. That means "Evil Mario"
Same thing for Waluigi. But his name does upset me, no matter what freakin' Japanese word. He sucks, yes, but he does deserve at least one game alone, or one with Wario. Think of it-Wario Brothers.

Daisy? The girl from Super Mario Land?
Well, I think there WAS a NC comic with her b/w sprite in it. If I remember right, she was together with Peach and the girl from Donkey Kong.

By the way, I think Luigi has become less neglected over the past years. I mean, when he was first introduced, he was just a Mario in Green! But now he has his own personality, his own figure and advantages in jumping, and he even had a standalone game.

/\ Two standalone games. And ukgirl1972 said a DECENT sprite of her, not a stupid black and white, extremely blurry sprite.

On a side note, I'm starting to think Pacman might be the second most popular video game character. Then maybe Donkey Kong.

Oh yeah, the Fire Sword. Well, it does have a name, and it IS an enemy, just as much as Thwomp is or those rotating things in the mini-fortresses from SMB3 are (now THOSE are neglected, and I think they were in one of Jay's Name Games). Also, the Fireballs are considered characters, shouldn't the fire swords be? -CSM

Hell, no!
I don't call them characters. They don't have intelligence, so they don't live.
Thwomps are, they just fall down when you are nearly below them.
But Fireballs just jump out of the lava, Fireropes just keep on rotating...
I mean, are ?-blocks characters just because mushrooms and coins come out?

That's because there is just this black and white, extremely blurry sprite EXISTING!
Jay doesn't make custom sprites (at least, REAL sprites).
