So far, it's pretty neat. I just now got up to Harry's Bar and still kicking much lead. The gun controls are, of course, spot on. You just point at your target and you shoot. Bang, dead. You can also scope in by shifting the Wii Remote forward, perfect for sniping. Or you can just pick up an Uzi or SCAR and shoot anything and everything that moves, but that's sacrificing Accuracy for Time. Then there's the sword controls, where everybody is focused. Right, it isn't simulation, but that's a good thing: These baddies are going to be pretty hard as you progress. Yes, you wield two swords, but one is for blocking/parrying to open your opponent. Later, you learn special moves to continue your ass-whooping/quest for respect. That leads me to my next point: There's a basic system of respect: Basically, if you let your opponent live (Starting in sword battles, eventually going to gun battles where you can shoot the gun out of your opponent's hand but I haven't done that yet), you gain respect points. This is used at the Dojo to learn your special moves. Be respected or feared, eh? Graphics are nifty. Not top notch, of course, but still nifty. Still, I wish I could adjust my TV screen. It won't let me turn up the Brightness. T_T Overall, a fun FPS to start of the shooters of the Wii. Not perfect, but hey. Pick it up if you have picky tastes in shooters. |
