| Just Another Face in Red Jumpsuit Join Date: May 2001 Location: Lemmingland Gender: Posts: 19,142 Thanks: 121 Thanked 176 Times in 121 Posts | Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice for All It's not as good as the first one. While it got some laughs out of me, I didn't find it nearly as funny as the first, and in fact I found the dialogue utterly irritating at times. Wendy Oldbag from the first game comes back. There she was funny because she was annoying, but here she's just plain annoying. Some of the new characters are equally obnoxious. Every other word Iny Miney says is teenage girl fluff like "like" and "um" and it takes forever for her to actually say anything. Mushi is going to hate me for this, but I wanted to punch Max Galactica in the face. The final episode might be the best, but at times is feels like the time buying in the story is more an excuse to make the trial go on for as long as possible - I swear this episode is as long as the other three combined. Also, something I thought was lame about the final episode: What happened to Matt's face? It's like they threw that nasty scar on him as a cheesy way of telling you he's omni-evil (and then there's the wine glass that he pulls from nowhere). After the sentencing he carves up his own face, so you think that must be how he got that scar, but come on. You really think somebody can make that deep a scar with their fingernails? And what could have possibly made him slash his own eye like that? ![]() Where are these lemmings going? Not the Super Nintendo Super Shire! They know to go to Codiekitty.com now! |

He must have went through a phase himself, knowing he's been screwed. Then he just found a new attitude. Then Wendy came at him with a knife... I thought you weren't fond of the first one. I loved the second one. I mean, come on. Moe's speech when being hit by Franziska's whip is hilarious. |

Setting that aside I loved the first one. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? Not the Super Nintendo Super Shire! They know to go to Codiekitty.com now! |

Besides that, am I the only one who wasn't over-the-top annoyed by that guy? Seriously, the only real emotion he got outta was immature giggles. I'll agree though, the quirks for the characters weren't nearly as interesting or well executed. Quote:
Also, Pix, Moe indeed had his moments, but his half-baked clown act got old kinda fast... It was still a good game though, despite its faults. Kept me interested for the whole six days it took me to beat it.

That was when we were little, too; based on that, think what an adult could when he actually has intent to maim. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I forgot to mention the fangs. It's like whenever this guy pulls his hair back to reveal the scar, he turns into a freaking vampire. The final hunk of cheese is even in the courtroom he's taunted Phoenix about how he's going to get of free and there's nothing Phoenix can do about it, but nobody but Phoenix seems to notice him. Okay, my wording was awkward, but what I meant was it was being used to pointlessly fluff out the game. The worst of it is it opened up a bunch of plot holes, and then the answer to that is the good ol' "If a character acknowledges something is wrong, that fixes everything" excuse. Another thing that bothered me about Max Galactica is he seems to be one of those "If you want your character to be popular, make him look like Sephiroth" types. And for the record, "Inpax" sounds like a tampon brand. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? Not the Super Nintendo Super Shire! They know to go to Codiekitty.com now! I enjoyed it. I ignored the small things and thus I have nothing to complain about. It was a good game, the final episode was intense, and Max Galactica was actually supposed to be very annoying and he succeeded on that level. For me, this game just made me want the third game all the more. Now I eagerly await September. |

Although no longer a lawyer, he helps Apollo out. He does vanish now and then, appearing to be investigating something. |

This brings up a good point. It sounded from codie's review that it was the very small yet trivial things that pissed him off. If you let the small things get in the way you'll never really be able to enjoy a game.

Yes, there was technically no need for it, but I'm really glad they added something DS-exclusive to a straight GBA port, and how they used the DS technology to do some really fun stuff. The only gripe I had was that it didn't connect to the rest of the game enough, but other than that, it was awesomely awesome. You've been here since 2000 and you still don't know CK is a girl? |

And when there's a bunch of little problems and nothing to make up for them, they add up. The fifth chapter had a great idea that was mostly suffocated by fluff that opened a bunch of plotholes and rubbing it in your face that your client was guilty and so evil he's a freaking vampire. I should have specified that I don't think it's a bad game, but it was disappointing. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? Not the Super Nintendo Super Shire! They know to go to Codiekitty.com now! The fifth case was probably one of the high points for me, but damn it all, they kind of left gaping plot hole in there. Point in case, (minor spoilers ahead for those who haven't played JFA or finished PW:AA) Edgeworth left at the end of the fourth case without saying anything. This is supposed to denote his disgust at his past performance, his quest to find himself, et cetera. In JFA, they note he left AFTER the Von Karma incident without taking another case. However, the fifth case in PW:AA is "Another case", so they kind of left that hole wide open. However, they did try to cover it up by leaving that note at the end of the fifth case. It's also funny how everyone forgets that case happened by the time Edgeworth returns in the next game. However, it is fun to see that the fifth case does link to Gyakuten Saiban 4. But either way, I still had fun with that one. I felt more involved in that one than I did in the other cases. |

Apparently it was to answer some questions about some incident, but it just created more questions than answers. |
