I seriously doubt Mr. L compares at all to Goomba Head over there.

Though there are some things.....

The Top part of the head for example.

Not just looks, though. They also have similar personalities and backgrounds. Not to mention that they're both basically an evil Luigi dressed in black and green.

Anyway, I agree that it's an amusing coincidence that both Jay and Nintendo came up with an Evil Luigi alter ego. But then again, Luigi's story IS that he's always in Mario's shadow, and that's just prime material for having an evil alter ego.
