Dennis Hopper/The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The movie is popular to hate on, but in light of Hopper's recent Death I feel like statement how I always considered it to be while a horrible adaptation to still be a very entertaining film on it's own.

And Hopper's performance was of course very awesome.

Well, I like the movie, too! Of course it's an absolute trash movie, but who cares? ^^
I've even got it on DVD.

I watched it a few times. I like it fine, even though it's so vastly different from the Mario games.

I've still never actually watched the live action movie. It's one of those movies I've only seen bits and pieces of.

I didn't know he died.

I don't see why people hate this movie. Yes, it is bad, but that makes it funny. And, the fact that it is called "Super Mario Bros" and yet has almost nothing to do with it makes you wonder just what they were thinking (aside from the name garnering sales). If it had been called something else, no one would be able to tell it had any relation to Super Mario Bros. at all.

I honestly think that people would be more accepting of the movie if it wasn't "based" on the Super Mario games. I love the film, in all its cheesy glory.

He died recently, like a day or 2 before I made this thread.

It's a crap adaptation but a fun movie, and Hooper is one of the best for making a cool entertaining villain.

On the other hand...if it wasn't "based" on the Mario games, no one would even remember it today.

I loved Dennis Hopper in this. It was a good movie in its own right. But don't you dare try to compare it to the game....

Ah, the famed necrobump.

Honestly though, I fail to understand why people say it was nothing like/had nothing to do with the game.

Plumbers from Brooklyn? Check.
Mushrooms, Bob-ombs, and Goombas? Check.
Princess in another castle? Check.
Kuribo's Shoes? Check.
De-evolution guns? Check.

Granted, a terrible movie, but clearly tied in to the games.

Wait...what? Since when were there De-evolution guns in the game?

And also, Bowser was a human. How hard would it have been to make a rubber turtle suit? The TMNT movies did it just fine.

Well, in some way he's actually right. The movie called TMNT is animated But all the other ones are not. And that's good!
So yeah, they could easily have transformed Bowser into a turtle.

If you guys recall, they did slightly mutate Bowser into a T-Rex in his second or third scene. However, he was able to control his mutations and remain human up until the final battle with Mario where....

Spoiler Below
....he (Bowser) was attacked with his own "devo" gun and fully mutated into a Tyrannosaurus, and then finally primordial ooze.

I believe you overlooked the humor in that statement.
