Point 1) Because Metal Man did not include Phenom, Gaiden, or Erdawn on the list of soul eroders, it fails. Miserably. But the presence of those he did list is nearly redeeming. Except he included himself.

Point 2) Child. You know nothing of soullessly lacking a soul until you've met Joker. When he's sober. Take that and make the number unknown to mortal, demonkind, or Alien Spawn of Baktheleth, and you have the man when he's not sober. When he's piss drunk, the ****ing planet aborts everyone. And then hangs itself by a noose made of the ****ing oceans.
