No, because Aerith died in the same game she appeared in, not a sequel.

Also, nobody gives a **** about Aerith.

Final boss is probably Henry. Or Sylvia. Or someone new, like that schoolgirl with the beam saber.

Oh, and I'm guessing Shinobu or whatever will appear again. Hooray, I liked her.

IT'S A MOTHERF*CKING UPDATE

Three things about No More Heroes 2 - Tiny Cartridge - Nintendo DS & DSi News, Media, Videos, Imports, Homebrew, & Retro Junk

Taken from the link:

Spoiler Below
The latest issue of Nintendo Power has three interesting details about the upcoming No More Heroes 2 sequel, notable enough that they could be considered spoilers, so consider yourself warned.

Shinobu, the teen assassin from the original game, will return in NMH2: Desperate Struggle as a playable character. Her fighting style will significantly differ from Travis’, as she moves faster and can even jump. You can’t play as her whenever you want, though.

Suda expects NMH2 to have around 50 boss battles. He comments, “… we didn’t just want you to be fighting them as the same character again and again. By allowing the player to use a different character we can change up the tempo and offer more surprises. “

Travis’ primary reason for taking on the United Assassins Association again is to avenge the death of his best friend from the first game, Bishop.

Suda says that despite the grave setup, NMH2 won’t lose the original’s playful tone: “Travis can’t be Travis if he’s not doing all kinds of stupid stuff, too. So don’t worry; we’re going to balance the seriousness of the fight this time with the silliness of Travis.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

I AM EXCITE.

Reading up on what I can this one is most likely going to double or triple the play time of the first. Since you know the amount of boss battles. Can't wait to play it.

Why are we spoiler-tagging everything, again? This is stuff we'd find out on the game box and manual.

UPDATE: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle Preview at 1UP.com

No More Heroes 2 Desperate Struggle Preview for the Wii from 1UP.com

Quote:
When I think back on No More Heroes, last year's snarky, brawly Wii action game by Grasshopper Manufacture, a few memories jump out at me. The stylish cel-shading, which judging by the visual frame rates really pushed the Wii hardware to its limits. The intense violence, which pushed the M rating to its limit. The fantastic boss battles, easily the centerpiece of the action. The ironic story, which satirized the clichés of videogames with merciless brutality. And finally, the fact that 90% of the game was actually kind of boring: Repetitive fights with grunt enemies devalued the uniqueness of the motion-based controls, and the need to slog through endless stupid minigames to raise cash made the flow of gameplay every bit as trite as the games its self-aware dialogue mocked. In other words, it was a game bursting with style and innovation, bogged down by the fact that it couldn't escape the mundanity it aspired to rebel against.

As the sequel to such a rough gem, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle has the potential to either make up for its predecessor's shortcomings or succumb to them again. Based on the playable demo on the show floor at PAX 2009, it's impossible to say which will be the case. Seriously now, it's a 10-minute demo, and NMH's problems were the sort of issues that only became apparent with extended play. What do you expect? However, it's easy to see that even if the final product doesn't overcome the first game's shortcomings, this sequel is definitely off to a good start by playing up its predecessor's strengths.

For one thing, MNH2 is completely ironic, which should be obvious from the subtitle. "Desperate Struggle" suggests a DS-based port or spin-off, but no; it's a full-on sequel for Wii. The title screen features an 8-bit rendition of all-American protagonist Travis Touchdown sitting on the commode (restrooms were the original game's version of a save point), and Ubisoft is promoting the game with specially branded toilet paper. Finally, the plotline seems to negate everything the original accomplished: Sure, Travis became the world's greatest assassin by killing all the killers ahead of him, but his victory was hollow, and he's become known as the Crownless King to his would-be replacements. In other words, all that hard work (and killin') and he's still at the bottom of the heap.

This, of course, means more killin', which is really the whole point anyway.

NMH2 will feel instantly familiar to anyone who played the original. The controls remain essentially unchanged: Travis wields a light sword and performs instant combos with the A button; finishing moves are executed by swinging the Wii Remote in the direction indicated by an on-screen icon and pay off with a shower of gore and obscenities. Travis can swap between multiple weapons with a press of the 2 button, and you can recharge the beam blade by holding the 1 button and shaking the remote vigorously. (In case the first game was too subtle about how much this act resembles masturbation, the sequel helpfully provides an icon at the top of the screen, which droops as you lose power and rises stiffly as you shake the remote.) Travis can lock on, dodge and roll, and do all the requisite melee combat things that you expect from an action game like this.

Fortunately, enemies seem to demonstrate a lot more variety than in the first game. Sure, you have your boring mooks who basically stand there and die, but the demo also featured a number of more dangerous opponents. Gunmen keep their distance and pepper Travis with difficult to evade gunfire. Knife-wielders leap about and dodge your attacks, striking only once you enter your combo animations. Big guys with axes can shrug off your attacks without being stunned and strike back while you're wailing on them. And then, of course, there's the boss.

Travis's main opponent for the demo is a lanky, muscular guy who seems to roll up every black film stereotype all at once: he dresses like a rapper, his weapon is a transforming boom box (that fires missiles), he speaks with a Jamaican accent, and he lounges about his opulent mansion with a pair of hot girls sporting afros and bikinis. As with the first game's bosses, he attacks with a series of dangerous patterns that evolve as the battle progresses. Initially, he simply spams rocket attacks and can't be approached until you master the art of dodging. When you finally approach, he converts his boombox into armor and grapples with Travis. As he takes more and more damage, he begins activating traps in the scenery: First a deadly chandelier that drops on you for huge damage if you're foolish enough to run beneath it, then his gargoyles activate to fire lasers at you, and finally a pit opens in the floor. It's devious, though not impossible -- and for one final trick, you have to deliver a killing blow in the middle of the post-battle cinematic in order to finish the fight.

NMH2 is super violent, super stylish, and super vulgar. Almost unsettlingly so: When Travis confronts the final enemy of the demo, the boss throws the women on his arms at Travis and immediately leaps to attack. The girls are sliced to ribbons in a spray of blood as the men's weapons clash, and their lifeless, decapitated heads rolls around the floor during the pre-battle cut-scene. Far be it from me to let a silly little thing like good taste get in the way of enjoying a videogame, but it's off-putting on a few levels and makes me wonder at what point a game can cross the line to become too violent even for an M rating. If nothing else, expect to see a few angry editorials about the game's misogyny once it launches.

But, that launch is still a few months away, so we'll have to wait to see just how far NMH creator Goichi Suda is willing to go to surprise his fans -- as well as whether or not the final mix of gameplay elements is more satisfying than the original game's. In the meantime, best to get in some practice for that Wii-shaking recharge motion...
Wicked. Check the link for video and screenshots.
