It's true, Nintendo has actually patented a horse riding controller for the Wii. It's meant to be an inflatable cushion with a dock for the Wii Remote so it can detect bouncing and rocking.

Nintendo gave some example of uses in video games: Riding bulls, burros, dolphins, whales, dragons, griffons, unicorns and giant eagles.

Just remember that we may never see anything come from this. But don't be surprised if we do.
