Black Wii Remotes and Nunchuks Coming November 16

Black Wii Remotes and Nunchuks Coming November 16

Quote:
Anyone that's looking to pick up a couple of Wii remotes along with New Super Mario Bros. next month has a decision ahead of them: Go with the vanilla model, or one of the brand new black remotes? Nintendo announced this morning that they'll be releasing black Wii remotes and nunchuks -- their first additional color in the U.S. -- on November 16. As an added bonus, the black remotes will be bundled with MotionPlus adaptors for $49.99, while the 'chuk will be going for the usual MSRP of $19.99.

It's been a long time coming. Black Wii consoles and peripherals already showed up in Japan earlier this summer, and it's uncharacteristic of Nintendo to wait until after a price drop to introduce new colors. Looking back, it's more than a little weird that we've gone this long (since 2006) with only the white models.
Awesome.

Too bad I have 4 controllers (and 2 nunchuks) already. I can't see myself buying any more in the near future.

^ My thought exactly. Enough with the boring white colors. People want alternate colors because they're freakin' awesome!

Ironically, my favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla.

What are the odds of white Wii Remotes dropping in price because of this?

^^ Nada. The black Wiimotes aren't going to be a replacement, they're just going to be the same thing, different fashion.

Cool I've been looking for a reason to pick up more than my first wii mote and chuck. This is only going to add to the list of people asking but why the controller without the black wii itself? Seems odd or maybe that will be released later in the year or beginning of 2010.

The black Wii is probably going to be released outside of Japan later. Maybe next year.
