Reggie denies the existence of Wii HD

Reggie denies the existence of Wii HD

Quote:
Though plenty of people -- analyst Michael Pachter chief among them -- are pretty certain that an HD version of the Wii is in the pipeline, you're not going to catch Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Amie copping to it. Speaking with Geoff Keighley on Gametrailers TV, the Regginator said, "Michael continues to be the only one who believes that this is gonna happen. I don't know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD."

It certainly sounds like a firm refusal, but let's all try to remember that the shelf life of a Nintendo denial is exactly 10 days.
That last sentence refers to Nintendo denying the existence of a DS redesign 10 days before the DS Lite was announced.

Here's hoping.

I hope this isn't just a normal Wii with some eyebleed filter built in.

Also, I originally read this as "Reggie denies the existence of Wii XD".

And I thought the title was going to be "Reggie denies the existence of Beatrice" from seeing the beginning of the title on the main index.

An HD Wii would be cool, but I want more titles for my standard Wii.

I gotta say, I still don't give a **** about widescreens.

I expect this "Wii HD" to be the what the PS4 will be to PS3, otherwise I don't even care much.

I don't know but I've always seen HD as a very exagerrative luxury that we really don't need at the moment. While it may be alright for Nintendo to be seen towards making moves to appease the masses, I don't see myself really showing any interest in it.

Though I'll admit an HD Zelda title would intrigue me.

The fact that we, half the time, get half-assed ports simply because of the lack of specs is the problem. If HD availability actually improves the specs to allow better ports, then I'm all for it. Sure, I have an HD TV, but I only bought it for the bigger screen. Yes, 360 games look awesome, but I digress on that.
